1963–64 1.Lig
The 1963–64 1.Lig was the sixth season of professional football in Turkey. The league was re-branded as the 1.Lig following the creation of a second division known as the 2.Lig. Fenerbahçe won their third title, becoming the first club to do so. Güven Önüt, forward for Beşiktaş, finished top scorer of the league with 19 goals. He was the first player in club history to finish top scorer. Overview Fenerbahçe won their third top-flight title and Beşiktaş finished runners-up for the second time. Galatasaray rounded out the top three. Fenerbahçe qualified for the 1964–65 European Cup and Beşiktaş qualified for the Balkans Cup. Because Galatasaray had already qualified for the European Cup Winners' Cup, Göztepe took their place at the Inter–Cities Fairs Cup. Süper Lig
The Süper Lig (, ''Super League''), also known as Trendyol Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Turkey and the highest level of the Turkish football league system. In the 2023–2024 season, twenty clubs compete, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promotion and relegation, promoted from, and another four relegated to the TFF First League, 1. Lig. The season runs from August to May, with each club playing 36 matches. Matches are played Friday through Monday. Run by the Turkish Football Federation, the league succeeded the Turkish Football Championship and the Turkish National Division, National Division, both being former top-level national competitions. The Süper Lig is currently 9th in the UEFA coefficient ranking of leagues based on club performances in European competitions over the last five years. Beykoz Spor Kulübü Derneği, today known for sponsorship reasons as TTNet Beykoz, is a Turkish sports club based in Beykoz, Istanbul. Their home arena is Beykoz stadium (''Beykoz Stadyumu''). Türk Telekom GSK is a sports club located in Ankara, Turkey. The club mostly referred incorrectly as Türk Telekomspor. The football team plays their home games in Ankara Türk Telekom Stadı in Ankara. The club was founded in 1954 as Telspor and its previous name was PTT, and its colors were yellow and black. PTT had played in the First Level. Ankara Demirspor is a Turkish professional football club based in Ankara. They compete in the TFF Second League. They were one of the Super League's founding members in 1959. By winning the former Turkish Football Championship in 1947, they became Turkish champions for the first and only time. They played 13 seasons in the Super League and relegated to the Second League in 1971 and never returned to the top division.
