1936 Argentine Primera División
The 1936 Argentine Primera División was the 45th season of top-flight football in Argentina. Two regular championships were disputed that year, "Copa de Honor" (won by San Lorenzo de Almagro, San Lorenzo) and "Copa Campeonato" (won by Club Atlético River Plate, River Plate). At the end of the season, both champions, River and San Lorenzo, played a single match for the "Copa de Oro" trophy. River Plate won the match, that would be recognised as an additional league title. Final tables Copa de Honor Copa Campeonato Copa de Oro Trophy disputed by both champions of the two competitions contested that year, San Lorenzo (Copa de Honor) and River Plate (Copa Campeonato). In June 2013 (77 years after the match was played) the Argentine Football Association, AFA cited on its website the "Copa de Oro" as a league title for River Plate. The "Copa de Honor" was also included as a league title for San Lorenzo de Almagro.

The Primera División (; ), known officially as Liga Profesional de Fútbol, or Torneo Betano for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Argentina and the highest level of the Argentine football league system. Adolfo Pedernera
Adolfo Alfredo Pedernera (15 November 1918 – 12 May 1995) was an Argentine football player and coach. Nicknamed "El Maestro" ("The Teacher"), he was widely considered to be one of the best world football players in the 1940s and one of the greatest Argentine players of all time. Pedernera was the natural conductor of both the famous River Plate team known as La Máquina ("The Machine"), with whom he won several Argentine and South American titles, and the Millonarios team called Ballet Azul ("Blue Ballet") that won the Small Club World Cup in 1953 among many others Colombian titles. Renato Cesarini
Renato Cesarini (; 11 April 1906 – 24 March 1969) was an Italian Argentine football player and coach who most notably played for Juventus in Italy as a midfielder or forward. He was a dual international footballer and played for both the Argentina and Italy national teams. While playing for Italy, he was part of the successful runner-up 1931-32 Central European International Cup and gold winning 1933-35 Central European International Cup campaigns.
