Liga I
Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1 and officially known as SuperLiga for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Romania and the highest level of the Romanian football league system. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation from and to Liga II. The teams play 30 matches each in the regular season, before entering the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs according to their position in the regular table. Liga I was established in 1909 and commenced play for the 1909–10 Divizia A, 1909–10 campaign, being currently 25th in UEFA's UEFA coefficient#League coefficient, league coefficient ranking list. It is administered by the Liga Profesionistă de Fotbal, also known by the acronym LPF. Carol Burdan (born 1912, date of death unknown) was a Romanian footballer who played as a goalkeeper. International career Carol Burdan played three matches for Romania, making his debut on 14 October 1934 under coach Alexandru Săvulescu in friendly which ended 3–3 against Poland. His following two games were a 2–2 against Greece and a 3–2 victory against Bulgaria at the 1934–35 Balkan Cup. Ion Lăpușneanu
Ion "Jean" Lăpușneanu (8 December 1908 – 24 February 1994) was a Romanian Association football, football Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper. Club career Ion Lăpușneanu was born on 8 December 1908 in Bucharest, Romania, starting to play football in 1926 at FC Venus București, Venus București in the regional championship. After two years he went to play for Banatul Timișoara with whom in the 1928–29 season he won the regional championship which helped the team qualify for the 1928–29 Divizia A, national league where they were defeated with 3–0 by România Cluj in the semi-finals. Petea Vâlcov
Petre "Petea" Vâlcov (1910 – 16 November 1943) was a Romanian football player. Forming a well-known attacking triple for Venus București alongside his two brothers, Colea and Volodea, he was one of the most efficient goal-scorers in the Romanian First League. Career He played for only two clubs : Mihai Viteazu Chişinău and Venus București. Despite his goalscoring ability, he was never the top-goalscorer of the Divizia A. International career Petea Vâlcov made his debut for the national side in a June 1933 Balkan Cup match against Bulgaria. He had a great spell and scored two goals as Romania won 7–0. Iuliu Bodola
Iuliu Bodola (; 26 February 1912 – 9 September 1992) was a Romanian-Hungarian footballer who played as a striker. He represented both the Romania and Hungary national team at internationally level. His nickname was ''DuduÅŸ''/''Dudus''. He is Romania's third all-time top goalscorer, and he is also the all-time top goal scorer of the Balkan Cup. Club career Bodola started his career in 1929 (aged 17) for Clubul Atletic Oradea, before joining Venus BucureÈ™ti, with whom he was the champion of Divizia A in 1938–39 and 1939–40. Grațian Sepi (30 December 1910 – 6 March 1977) was a Romanian footballer who played as a striker. Club career Grațian Sepi, nicknamed "The Tank from the Balkans" or "The Brunette Sindelar" was born on 30 December 1910 in Valkány, Austria-Hungary, being his parents second child of three boys. After spending the first few years in Valkány, his family moved to Timișoara where he grew up in the Mehala neighborhood. He started playing junior level football in 1922 at local club, Politehnica. Șoimii Sibiu
Șoimii Sibiu (Falcons Sibiu) was a Romanian football team from Sibiu. They were founded in 1913 and disappeared in 2001. They were a main team in Sibiu, being four times regional champions of Sibiu. Asociația Fotbal Club Gloria Arad, also known as AFC Gloria Arad, or simply as Gloria Arad was a Romanian football club based in Arad, Arad County, currently playing in the Liga VI.
