Štefan Kvietik
Štefan Kvietik (10 May 1934 – 21 March 2025) was a Slovak actor and politician. Early life Kvietik was born on 10 May 1934 in the village Dolné Plachtince, First Czechoslovak Republic, Czechoslovakia. As a child, he planned to study medicine but eventually decided to follow the example of his parents, who were amateur theatre actors. In 1957, Kvietik graduated in theatre acting from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. After graduation he shortly acted in the Army theatre in Martin, Slovakia, Martin and in 1959 he joined the Slovak National Theatre, where he remained an assembly member for 50 years. Between 1984 and 1990, Kvietik also taught acting at his alma mater, the Academy of Performing Arts. Štefan Füle (born 24 May 1962) is a former Czech Republic, Czech diplomat who served as the European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy from February 2010 until October 2014. Early life and education Füle was born on 24 May 1962 in Sokolov, then in Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, Czechoslovakia. Štefan Banič
Štefan Banič (; 23 November 1870 – 2 January 1941) was a Slovak inventor who patented an early parachute design. Born in Jánostelek ('', Smolenická Nová Ves''), Austria-Hungary (now Smolenická Nová Ves, a part of Smolenice, Slovakia), Banič immigrated to the United States and worked as a coal miner in Greenville, Pennsylvania. After witnessing a plane crash in 1912, Banič constructed a prototype of a parachute, and on August 25, 1914 was granted US patent, No. 1,108,484. The design which was radically different from others – it was a type of umbrella attached to the body, but it is claimed that he successfully tested it in Washington, D.C. jumping first from a 15-story building and subsequently from an airplane in 1914. He sold his patent to the U.S. Army, although there is no evidence that it was ever used. Štefan Zošák
Štefan Zošák (born 3 April 1984) is a former Slovak professional football midfielder who had most recently played for Poprad. Club career Early career Zošák was born in Prešov. He started his career at FK Hanušovce nad Topľou, Bukóza Vranov nad Topľou and was later transferred to 1. FC Košice where he spent three seasons. He was signed by Ružomberok in the summer of 2002 at the age of 18. In the 2005–06 season he won the title with MFK Ružomberok in Corgoň Liga and the Slovak Cup. He also captained the team. Štefan Tiso
Štefan Tiso (October 18, 1897 – March 28, 1959) was a lawyer and president of the Supreme Court of the 1939–1945 Slovak Republic which was a puppet state of Nazi Germany. He was a cousin of Josef Tiso, the president of the Republic. Tiso was born in Nagybiccse, Kingdom of Hungary. He became prime minister (replacing Vojtech Tuka), Foreign Minister (replacing also Vojtech Tuka) and minister of Justice (replacing Gejza Fritz) of the Slovak Republic. In the latter position in 1944 he pressed for death sentences against leaders of the pro-allied Slovak National Council. Tiso also emphasized his desire to see a Final Solution to the Jewish Question in Slovakia, in discussions with Josef Witiska, the commander of Einsatzgruppe H. He believed that the uprising was the work of Judeo-Bolshevik plotters and considered Jews " enemies of the state". In a postwar trial, Štefan Tiso was given a life sentence. Štefan Moyses
Štefan Moyses (also as ''Štefan Moyzes'', ; October 24, 1797 in Veszele (today Veselé) – July 5, 1869 in Garamszentkereszt (now Žiar nad Hronom)) was a Slovak prelate who served as the 6th Bishop of Besztercebánya (now Banská Bystrica), teacher, patriot, co-founder and first Chairman of Matica slovenská. Štefan Harabin
Štefan Harabin (born 4 May 1957) is a former Slovak judge and politician. He served as chief justice of the Supreme Court of Slovakia for two terms (1998–2003 and 2009–2014) and Minister of Justice from 2006 to 2009.
