Škoda Museum
The Škoda Museum () is a museum in Mladá Boleslav in the Czech Republic. It presents the history of the automobile manufacturer Škoda Auto (known until 1925 as Laurin & Klement), which is one of just four automakers in the world which has an unbroken history stretching back to 1895. It is located next to a large production facility. History The museum was opened in 1995, to the centenary of the company's founding. A remodeled museum was opened in Autumn 2012. It is located in the former factory building of Škoda Auto where cars were manufactured until 1928. Collection The museum has an area of . It presents about 340 exhibits, of which 46 are cars. Mladá Boleslav
Mladá Boleslav (; ) is a city in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 47,000 inhabitants. It lies on the left bank of the Jizera (river), Jizera River. Mladá Boleslav is the second most populated city in the region. It is a major centre of the Czech automotive industry thanks to the Škoda Auto company and therefore the centre of Czech industry as a whole. Laurin & Klement was a Czech automobile, motorcycle and bicycle manufacturing company founded in 1895 in Mladá Boleslav, Kingdom of Bohemia by automotive pioneers Václav Laurin and Václav Klement. Liberec
Liberec (; ) is a city in the Czech Republic. It has about 108,000 inhabitants, making it the fifth largest city in the country. Vratislavice Nad Nisou
Vratislavice nad Nisou () is a self-governing borough of the city of Liberec in the Czech Republic. As of 2021, it has about 8,900 inhabitants. It straddles the Lusatian Neisse river between Liberec and Jablonec nad Nisou, around 3.5 km south-east of Liberec city centre. History The settlement of "Wratislawicz" was established, it is thought, in the 13th century by Bohemian colonists on the left bank of the river Nisa. The very first written document mentioning this place comes from the 1460s which by this stage had a stone church. The right bank of the Nisa was settled (as an independent village) during the 16th century by German speaking people from Silesia, and called the village Meffersdorf after the settlers' home village. The penny-farthing, also known as a high wheel, high wheeler or ordinary, is an early type of bicycle. It was popular in the 1870s and 1880s, with its large front wheel providing high speeds, owing to it travelling a large distance for every rotation of the wheel. Techmania Science Center
Techmania Science Center is one of the first Science museum#Science center, science centers in the Czech Republic and an institution of informal education. The project was established in 2005 by the Škoda Transportation joint-stock company and the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň.
