Śródmieście-Północ
Śródmieście-Północ (''Downtown-North'') is a municipal neighbourhood of the city of Szczecin, Poland, within the Śródmieście, Szczecin, Downtown district. Its western half features low-rise housing with villas, while the eastern half, mid-rise apartment buildings. The neighbourhood has an area of 1.41 km2, and in 2022, was inhabited by 10,460 people. The neighbourhood includes the city hall, the Bright Meadows, Bright Meadows Square, and skyscreper Hanza Tower. The area was developed in the 19th century, with construction of tenement houses, and villas of the housing estate of Westend (now known as Łękno). They were incorporated into the city in 1875 and 1910 respectively. Most of the tenements were destroyed during the World War II, Second World War, and were replaced by apartment buildings from the 1950s to the 1980s. Hanza Tower is a skyscraper in Szczecin, Poland, located at the 50 Wyzwolenia Avenue, in the Śródmieście-Północ municipal neighbourhood. The building is 125 m tall, making it the tallest building in the city. It has 34 floors, including 4 underground. Its construction begun in 2011, and had been finished in 2021. Pope John Paul II Avenue (), also commonly referred to as the Fountain Avenue () is an Avenue (landscape), avenue located in the areas of the Centrum, Szczecin, Centrum and Śródmieście-Północ neighborhoods in the Śródmieście, Szczecin, Śródmieście district of Szczecin. The John Paul II Bright Meadows Square, commonly known as the Bright Meadows, and until 1945 known as Quistorp Meadow, is a garden square in the city of Szczecin, Poland. It is located in the neighbourhood of Śródmieście-Północ, within the district of Śródmieście. The park borders Szczecin City Hall to the south, and Jan Kasprowicz Park to the north.
