Łukasz Żygadło
Łukasz Tomasz Żygadło (born 2 August 1979) is a Polish former professional volleyball player who is the sporting director of the Polish PlusLiga team, Norwid Częstochowa. Żygadło was a member of the Poland national team from 1998 to 2014 (247 matches in the national team), participant in the 2012 Olympic Games, 2012 World League winner, and a silver medallist at the 2006 World Championship. He is also a multiple Champions League and Club World Championship winner with Trentino Volley. Personal life Łukasz Żygadło was born in Sulechów, Poland. He attended School of Sports Championship in Rzeszów. He graduated from Częstochowa University of Technology with a master's degree in Management and Marketing. He is married to Agnieszka. 2006 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship
The 2006 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship was held in Japan from 17 November to 3 December 2006. Like the previous edition, 24 teams participated in the tournament. Brazil won the Tournament (retaining their championship title), defeating Poland 3:0 in the final match. Bulgaria placed 3rd, defeating Serbia and Montenegro 3:1 in the 3rd place match. The Polish team dedicated this achievement to the deceased Polish volleyball player Arkadiusz Gołaś. The team honored him at the award ceremony, when they wore T-shirts with the number 16 and the words "Golas". Host Finals hosts Japan. The tournament was held in six Japan cities. CEV Champions League
The CEV Champions League is the top official competition for men's volleyball clubs from the whole of Europe. The competition is organised every year by the European Volleyball Confederation. Formula (2018–19 to present) Qualification A total of 20 teams participate in the main competition, with 18 teams being allocated direct vacancies on the basis of ranking list for European Cup Competitions, and 2 teams from the qualification rounds. League round 20 teams take part in the League round where they are split into 5 groups. KS Norwid Częstochowa
KS Norwid Częstochowa, officially known for sponsorship reasons as Steam Hemarpol Norwid Częstochowa, is a professional men's volleyball team from Częstochowa, which is also a section of the youth sports club, run at the 9th Cyprian K. Norwid High School in Częstochowa. In 2004–2012 the team performed under the name KS Delic-Pol Norwid Częstochowa. Since 2013, the team has been named Exact Systems Norwid Częstochowa. The PlusLiga is the highest level of men's volleyball in Poland, a professional league competition featuring volleyball clubs located in this country. It is overseen by Polska Liga Siatkówki SA (PLS SA). It is currently a 14 teams league from October to April/May. The regular season is followed by playoffs, with the winner earning the Polish Championship (). It is one of the best volleyball leagues in Europe, being highly ranked in the international competitions. Men's European Volleyball Championship
The Men's European Volleyball Championship (''EuroVolley'') is the official competition for senior men's national volleyball teams of Europe, organized by the European Volleyball Confederation ( CEV). The initial gap between championships was variable, but since 1975 they have been awarded every two years. The current champion is Poland, which won its second title at the 2023 tournament. History The first tournament was held in 1948 with participation of six national teams. Being only participant from Eastern Europe, Czechoslovakia captured gold.
