İstanbul Football League
The Istanbul Football League () was founded as a regional association football, football league under the name Constantinople Football Association League by James La Fontaine and Henry Pears in Istanbul, the capital of the former Ottoman Empire, in 1904. The Istanbul League was the first football organization ever in the Ottoman Empire and later Turkey. In the inaugural 1904–05 season the matches between the four teams, Moda F.C., Moda FC, HMS Imogene F.C., HMS Imogene, Elpis F.C., Elpis FC, and Cadi-Keuy F.C., Cadi-Keuy FC were played on Sundays, leading to the name of the league, Istanbul Sunday League. Henry Pears, an Englishman and one of the three founders, promised to ultimately award the shield to the club with the most championships won during the initial 10 years. Istanbul Shield
The Istanbul Shield () was a association football, football tournament for Istanbul clubs in Turkey which was organised between 1930 and 1939. At the beginning it was decided that the club which would win the most titles during the nine-year span would be the final owner of the shield. The final match between Galatasaray S.K. (football), Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe S.K. (football), Fenerbahçe in 1931 was not played. In 1932, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray and Beşiktaş J.K., Beşiktaş did not participate and İstanbulspor A.Ş., İstanbulspor won the shield. In 1933 the semi-final game was cancelled due to the abusive behavior of Fenerbahçe fans when their team was leading 2–0. Galatasaray won the repeated game by 1–0. The tournament was later re-organized under the name Istanbul Football Cup (''İstanbul Kupası'' in Turkish). Since Fenerbahçe won the title a record four times, they became the final owners of the shield, which is exhibited in the museum of the club until today. ...

RSSSF
The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (''RSSSF'') is an international organisation dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world. 1913–14 Istanbul Football League
The 1913–14 İstanbul Football League season was the ninth season of the İstanbul Football League. Fenerbahçe S.K., Fenerbahçe won the league for the second time. Strugglers FC left the league after their sixth match after refusing to change their original kit. Telefoncular FC also left the league after their fifth match. The remaining matches involving these clubs were ruled a 3–0 win for the opposing side. Progress FC changed its name to Altınordu İdman Yurdu SK during the season. Season References

Balkan Wars
The Balkan Wars were two conflicts that took place in the Balkans, Balkan states in 1912 and 1913. In the First Balkan War, the four Balkan states of Kingdom of Greece (GlĂĽcksburg), Greece, Kingdom of Serbia, Serbia, Kingdom of Montenegro, Montenegro and Kingdom of Bulgaria, Bulgaria declared war upon the Ottoman Empire and defeated it, in the process stripping the Ottomans of their European provinces, leaving only East Thrace, Eastern Thrace under Ottoman control. 1911–12 Istanbul Football League
The 1911–12 İstanbul Football League season was the 8th season of the league. Fenerbahçe won the league for the first time. Galatasaray protested Istanbul League Organization' s decision regarding Adnan İbrahim Pirioglu's penalty and did not join the league. Fenerbahçe, which developed and strengthened its squad with new young players, became champions without being defeated. The most important aspect of this season was that with Fenerbahçe being champions, the championship streak of English and Greek teams completely ended, and from this date on, only Turkish teams became champions in the Istanbul Football League. Altınordu İdman Yurdu
Altınordu İdman Yurdu were a Turkish sports club based in Istanbul, Turkey. Founded in 1909 under the name Progres FC, the football department of the club became champions in the Istanbul Football League in the 1916–17 and 1917–18 seasons. The club colours were red and navy blue. History Altınordu İdman Yurdu were founded by Aydınoğlu Raşit Bey under the name Progres FC in 1909 by footballers who left Galatasaray. In 1914, Talat Pasha became the club president and the team became the football club of the Committee of Union and Progress party. Also in 1914, the club changed their name to Altınordu İdman Yurdu and soon gained considerable success in the Istanbul Football League. They eventually dissolved in 1926.
