Istanbul Football League
The Istanbul Football League () was founded as a regional association football, football league under the name Constantinople Football Association League by James La Fontaine and Henry Pears in Istanbul, the capital of the former Ottoman Empire, in 1904. The Istanbul League was the first football organization ever in the Ottoman Empire and later Turkey. In the inaugural 1904–05 season the matches between the four teams, Moda F.C., Moda FC, HMS Imogene F.C., HMS Imogene, Elpis F.C., Elpis FC, and Cadi-Keuy F.C., Cadi-Keuy FC were played on Sundays, leading to the name of the league, Istanbul Sunday League. Henry Pears, an Englishman and one of the three founders, promised to ultimately award the shield to the club with the most championships won during the initial 10 years. 1911–12 Istanbul Football League
The 1911–12 İstanbul Football League season was the 8th season of the league. Fenerbahçe won the league for the first time. Galatasaray protested Istanbul League Organization' s decision regarding Adnan İbrahim Pirioglu's penalty and did not join the league. Fenerbahçe, which developed and strengthened its squad with new young players, became champions without being defeated. The most important aspect of this season was that with Fenerbahçe being champions, the championship streak of English and Greek teams completely ended, and from this date on, only Turkish teams became champions in the Istanbul Football League. Cadi-Keuy FC is a defunct sports club of Istanbul, Ottoman Empire. History Cadi-Keuy FC was a club which was founded by Englishmen James Lafontaine and Horace Armitage in 1902. Its name is a foreign rendering of Kadıköy, its home ground, as the standard Turkish Latin alphabet did not yet exist at the time of the club's creation. On Sunday 31 January 1909 Kadiköy reached the final of the ''Union Club Cup'', the first football cup to be played in Ottoman Empire, at the Union Club field at Kadiköy. They lost 4-0 to Galatasaray AFC. Strugglers FC was an association football club which was founded in Istanbul by the Greek residents of the city in 1908.
