Đại Từ is a huyện, rural district of Thái Nguyên province in the Northeast (Vietnam), Northeast region of Vietnam. As of 2003 the district had a population of 163,637 . The district covers an area of 578 km². The district capital lies at Hùng Sơn, Thái Nguyên, Hùng Sơn.
