Ünyespor is a sports club located in Ünye, a district in Ordu, Turkey. The club plays its games at the Ünye İlçe Stadium. The club was founded as "Ünye Gençlerbirliği" in 1957 and took the Ünyespor name in 1985. In 2015 Ünyespor and Ünye Belediyespor merged to become ''Ünye 1957 Spor''. It was founded in the 2001–02 season with the name of ''Turkish Second League Category B'' as a continuation of the then second level division. Ãœnye
Ünye (''Oinòe'', Οἰνόη in ancient Greek) is a municipality and district of Ordu Province, Turkey. Its area is 569 km2, and its population is 132,432 (2022). It is on the Black Sea coast, 76 km west of the city of Ordu. Geography Ünye has a little port, in a bay on one of the flatter areas of the Black Sea coast. Agriculture is the basis of the local economy, in particular hazelnut growing, hazelnut trading and hazelnut processing. The town is very quiet in late-July and August when most people are in the countryside for the hazelnut harvest. The town of Ünye provides high schools, higher education and other services to the surrounding countryside, and other industry includes a large cement factory, flour mills, local handicrafts and the port. Ordu () or Altınordu is a port city on the Black Sea coast of Turkey and the capital of Ordu Province. The city forms the urban part of the Altınordu, Ordu, Altınordu district, with a population of 235,096 in 2023. Name Kotyora, the original name of the city is a legacy of indigenous Colchis, Colchians. The name is allegedly composed of an old Laz language word for pottery ('Koto', similar to Mingrelian language, Mingrelian 'Koto', Georgian language, Georgian 'Kotani' and Laz 'Katana') and a common Kartvelian languages, Kartvelian suffix indicating belonging ('Uri'). The TFF 1. Lig (), currently referred to as Trendyol 1. Lig for sponsorship reasons, is the second level of the Turkish football league system. The league was founded in 2001 as the ''Turkish Second League Category A'' after the reorganization of the Second Football League, which was the second level of the Turkish league system between 1963 and 2001.
