Østre Agder
Østre Agder is a district or region in Agder county in southern Norway. The district covers the eastern, coastal areas of the county including the eight municipalities of Arendal, Tvedestrand, Risør, Grimstad, Gjerstad, Vegårshei, Åmli, and Froland. The city of Arendal (town), Arendal is the largest city in the region. Other cities in the district include Tvedestrand (town), Tvedestrand, Grimstad (town), Grimstad, and Risør (town), Risør. This region is bounded by Telemark County to the north, by the Setesdal region to the northwest, and by the Kristiansand Region to the southwest. Østre Agder has about 92,400 residents in its area. Metropolitan Regions Of Norway
There are 16 statistical metropolitan areas in Norway, of which six count as "Greater City Regions" (''Storbyregioner'') and ten as "City Regions" (''Byregioner''). The classification comes from ''Storbymeldingen'' (The Greater City Report) from the Norwegian Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development. This report was composed in 2002–2003 to create a coherent policy for the development of metropolitan areas within Norwegian society. It was presented by then Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Erna Solberg on 12 March 2003. The Greater City Regions contain cities with numbers of inhabitants ranging from around 60,000 to 1.4 million, while the City Regions range from around 45 to 175 thousand. Setesdal
Setesdal (; older name: Sætersdal) is a valley and a traditional district in Agder County in southern Norway. It consists of the municipalities of Bykle, Valle, Bygland, Iveland, and Evje og Hornnes. The Otra river flows through the valley of Setesdal into the sea near Kristiansand. It flows southward from the Hardangervidda plateau in Telemark. The historic Setesdal starts at Evje and extends as far as the farm Bjåen, at the edge of the traditional region of Telemark. Øvre (Upper) Setesdal is in the municipality of Bykle. The municipalities of Iveland, Evje & Hornes and Bygland comprise the Nedre (Lower) Setesdal. Valle municipality is in the middle of the Setesdal valley. Bokmål () (, ; ) is one of the official written standards for the Norwegian language, alongside Nynorsk. Bokmål is by far the most used written form of Norwegian today, as it is adopted by 85% to 90% of the population in Norway. There is no countrywide standard or agreement on the pronunciation of Bokmål and the Norwegian dialects, spoken dialects vary greatly. Bokmål is regulated by the governmental Language Council of Norway. Norwegian ( ) is a North Germanic language from the Indo-European language family spoken mainly in Norway, where it is an official language.
