Öznur Polat
Öznur Polat (born 12 December 1987) is a Turkish curler and curling coach. She currently plays third on the Turkey women's national curling team skipped by Dilşat Yıldız. Career Polat was admitted to the Turkey women's junior team in 2010, while still in juniors. At the junior level, she skipped the Turkish team to a winless 0–9 record at the 2011 Winter Universiade. She fared well in the European C Division from 2010 to 2012, qualifying Turkey into the B Division in both 2010 and 2012. She took over as skip of the team from 2013 to 2015, before Dilşat Yıldız took over skipping duties for the team, moving Polat to third. After losing in a tiebreaker in both 2014 and 2015, the Turkish women's team qualified for the playoffs in the B Division at the 2016 European Curling Championships, finishing second in the round robin with a 7–2 record. Erzurum
Erzurum (; ) is a List of cities in Turkey, city in eastern Anatolia, Turkey. It is the largest city and capital of Erzurum Province and is 1,900 meters (6,233 feet) above sea level. 2019 European Curling Championships
The 2019 Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championships was held in 2019 to qualify European curling teams for the 2020 World Curling Championships and World Qualification Event. The A and B division competitions were held from November 16 to 23 at The Olympia Rink in Helsingborg, Sweden. The C division competition was held from April 13 to 17 at the Brașov Olympic Ice Rink in Brașov, Romania. Seven men's teams, not including the hosts, Scotland, who automatically qualify, qualified for the 2020 World Men's Curling Championship. Ayşe Gözütok
Ayşe Gözütok is a Turkish curler from Erzurum, Turkey. She is the former lead of the Turkey women's national curling team. Career In juniors, Gözütok was the alternate on the Turkey junior team that competed at the 2011 Winter Universiade. The team finished with a winless 0–9 record. Gözütok competed in her first European Curling Championships in 2012 as lead for the Elif Kızılkaya rink. The team finished 4–5 in the B Division, one game short of advancing to the playoff round. After losing in a tiebreaker in both 2014 and 2015, the Turkish women's team qualified for the playoffs in the B Division at the 2016 European Curling Championships, finishing second in the round robin with a 7–2 record. 2022 World Women's Curling Championship
The 2022 World Women's Curling Championship (branded as the 2022 BKT Tires & OK Tire World Women's Curling Championship for sponsorship reasons) was held from March 19 to 27 at the CN Centre in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada. Prince George was originally chosen to host the 2020 World Women's Curling Championship, but the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The format for the Championship returned to a 13 team round robin opposed to the 14 teams qualified for the 2021 World Women's Curling Championship. The Olympic qualification event (branded as the 2021 Olympic Qualification Event presented by Asito for sponsorship reasons) is an international curling tournament that was held from 5–18 December 2021 in Leeuwarden, Netherlands. The first international curling tournament to be hosted by the Netherlands, the event was the final qualifier for curling at the 2022 Winter Olympics, and was established as part of changes to the qualification process necessitated due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
