2021 Olympic Qualification Event – Curling
The Olympic qualification event (branded as the 2021 Olympic Qualification Event presented by Asito for sponsorship reasons) is an international curling tournament that was held from 5–18 December 2021 in Leeuwarden, Netherlands. The first international curling tournament to be hosted by the Netherlands, the event was the final qualifier for curling at the 2022 Winter Olympics, and was established as part of changes to the qualification process necessitated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament was played between the men's, women's, and mixed doubles teams that qualified for the 2020 or 2021 World Curling Championships, but had yet to qualify for the Olympics, joined by additional teams who qualified through a pre-qualification tournament in November. The top three National Olympic Committees (NOCs) in the men's and women's tournaments, and the top two NOCs in the mixed doubles tournament, advanced to the Olympic curling tournament. is a Japanese curler from Nagano. She was a longtime member of the Chubu Electric Power curling team from 2012 to 2023. With the team, she won five Japan Curling Championships in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2019. Klaudius Harsch (born 23 January 2001) is a German curler from Kempten, Germany. Career Juniors Harsch made his first appearance at the World Junior-B Curling Championships in 2018. There, his team of Sixten Totzek, Joshua Sutor, Jan-Luca Häg and Till Wunderlich won the bronze medal game, sending them to the 2018 World Junior Curling Championships. At the championship, the team just missed the playoffs with a 4–5 record after losing their final round robin draw to Canada's Tyler Tardi. Pia-Lisa Schöll (born 28 March 1991 in Oberstdorf) is a German curler. Career Juniors Schöll played third for Germany, skipped by Frederike Templin at the 2008 World Junior Curling Championships, placing last (10th place).
