Óscar Aguirregaray
Óscar Osvaldo Aguirregaray Acosta (born 25 October 1959) is a former Uruguayan footballer who played as a defender for Uruguay national team. Club career At club level, he has played for Nacional, Defensor Sporting, Internacional de Porto Alegre, Palmeiras, Figueirense and Peñarol. In 2006, he was head coach of Club Atlético River Plate in Uruguay alongside Pablo Bengoechea. On 2 May 2001, Oscar Aguirregaray scored Peñarol's only goal in a 1-3 loss to Vasco da Gama in the group stage of the 2001 Copa Libertadores, thus becoming the oldest player to score in the competition at the age of 41 years and 189 days, a record he held for 16 years, until Zé Roberto scored at nearly 43 in . Artigas, Uruguay
Artigas () is the capital of the Artigas Department of Uruguay. Its name comes from that of the national hero, José Gervasio Artigas, who fought for the emancipation of the River Plate, and sought to create a federative nation from these colonies. The 1980 Intercontinental Cup was an association football match played on 11 February 1981 between Nacional of Uruguay, winners of the 1980 Copa Libertadores, and Nottingham Forest of England, winners of the 1979–80 European Cup.
