Ángel María Bautista Castro y Argiz (, 5 December 1875 – 21 October 1956) was a Spanish-born Cuban farmer and businessman who was the father of Cuban leaders Fidel, Raúl and Ramón Castro. Early life Ángel Castro was born in Láncara, in a small fieldstone house typical of the poor Galician peasants of that time,Ramonet, Ignacio, ''Fidel Castro: My Life''. Ángel Castro (first Baseman)
Ángel Castro Pacheco (20 April 1917 – 10 January 1983) was a Mexican professional baseball first baseman. Castro spent twenty seasons playing in the Mexican League from 1938 to 1957. Castro was inducted into the Mexican Professional Baseball Hall of Fame as part of the class of 1964. Nicknamed, "el bateador elegante" (the elegant hitter), Castro is considered as one of the first Mexican baseball stars alongside Héctor Espino. Career Castro was born on 20 April 1917 in Empalme, Sonora. He made his professional debut in the Mexican League in 1938 with the Alijadores de Tampico and won the Rookie of the Year Award. In 1939, Castro hit three home runs in a game, becoming the second player to do so in the Mexican League. In 1940, Castro was traded to the Azules de Veracruz and in 1941, he returned to Tampico. Ángel M. Castro (born November 14, 1982) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Oakland Athletics and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. Career Detroit Tigers Castro attended Western Oklahoma State College in Altus, Oklahoma. The Detroit Tigers drafted Castro in the 13th round, with the 382nd overall selection, of the 2006 Major League Baseball draft. He made his professional debut with the Dominican Summer League Tigers. Castro split the 2007 season between the Single–A West Michigan Whitecaps and High–A Lakeland Flying Tigers. She competed in the Athletics at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Women's 20 kilometres walk, women's 20 kilometres walk event at the 2016 Summer Olympics finishing in 18th place.
