ﾃ］gel Ballesteros Gallardo, Spanish poet and historian ( Gﾃ｡lvez 1940- ), lives in Talavera de la Reina, graduated with degrees in philosophy and linguistics. He is a member of the Royal Academy of Historic Sciences and Fine Arts of Toledo. Biography Gallardo was born in Gﾃ｡lvez, Toledo, studied Philosophy and Languages and began his research in Barcelona. In 1973 he moved to Talavera de la Reina, Spainwhere he started an important task as historic investigator. His main subject of studies is the ancient festival called "Mondas", a Spring parade originating in the Celt Iberian period 2200 a.C. in this area. He also studied about others items concerning to the city past. Ballesteros wrote in ''La Voz del Tajo'' newspaper. In 1983 he was decorated as 'Numerary advisor of the Provincial Institute of Toledian Studies and Investigation'. Talavera De La Reina
Talavera de la Reina () is a city and municipalities of Spain, municipality of Spain, part of the autonomous communities of Spain, autonomous community of Castile窶鏑a Mancha. Its population of 83,303 makes it the second most populated municipality of the province of Toledo and the fourth largest in the region. Although the city straddles both banks of the Tagus, a few kilometres downstream from the junction of the former with the Alberche, most of the urbanisation concentrates on the right (northern) bank. There are two islands in the centre of the city called Isla Grande and Chamelo Island. Three bridges cross the Tagus in Talavera. The city is well known for its pottery craft. Juan De Mariana
Juan de Mariana (2 April 1536 窶 17 February 1624), was a Spanish Jesuit priest, Scholastic, historian, and member of the Monarchomachs. Life Juan de Mariana was born in Talavera, Kingdom of Toledo. He studied at the Complutense University of Alcalﾃ｡ de Henares and was admitted at the age of 17 into the Society of Jesus. In 1561, he went to teach theology in Rome, reckoning among his pupils Robert Bellarmine, afterwards cardinal; then passed into Sicily; and in 1569 he was sent to Paris, where his expositions of the writings of Thomas Aquinas attracted large audiences. In 1574, owing to ill health, he obtained permission to return to Spain; the rest of his life being passed at the Jesuits' house in Toledo in vigorous literary activity. He died in Madrid.
