Thế Giới Publishers ( vi, Nhà xuất bản Thế Giới, literally "World Publishers") is Vietnam's official foreign language publishing house. Company history The publishing house was established in 1957 "to introduce readers around the world to Vietnam" through publications in English, French and other foreign languages. From 1957 to 1992 it was known as the Foreign Languages Publishing House and also as the Editions en Langues Etrangères (). It also now publishes bilingual books and books in Vietnamese and publishes ''Vietnam Cultural Window'' an English language bi-monthly illustrated magazine, as well as a quarterly academic journal, ''Vietnamese Studies'' and its French version, ''Etudes Vietnamiennes''. Thế Giới also offers consultancy services using its experience in translation and publishing for cooperative ventures in the book industry, printing and translation. Hanoi
Hanoi or Ha Noi ( or ; vi, Hà Nội ) is the capital and second-largest city of Vietnam. It covers an area of . It consists of 12 urban districts, one district-leveled town and 17 rural districts. Located within the Red River Delta, Hanoi is the cultural and political centre of Vietnam. Hanoi can trace its history back to the third century BCE, when a portion of the modern-day city served as the capital of the historic Vietnamese nation of Âu Lạc. The Bibliothèque nationale de France (, 'National Library of France'; BnF) is the national library of France, located in Paris on two main sites known respectively as ''Richelieu'' and ''François-Mitterrand''. Translation
Translation is the communication of the meaning of a source-language text by means of an equivalent target-language text. Foreign Languages Press
Foreign Languages Press is a publishing house located in China. Based in Beijing, it was founded in 1952 and currently forms part of the China International Publishing Group, which is owned and controlled by the Publicity Department of the Chinese Communist Party. The press publishes books on a wide range of topics in eighteen languages spoken primarily outside China. Much of its output is aimed at the international community – its 1960s editions of works by Marx and Lenin are still widely circulated – but it also publishes some material aimed at foreign language students within China. Beginning in the 1950s many works of classical and modern Chinese literature were translated into English by translators such as Gladys Yang, Yang Xianyi and Sidney Shapiro. Foreign Languages Publishing House (North Korea)
The Foreign Languages Publishing House (FLPH) is the central North Korean publishing bureau of foreign-language documents, located in the Potonggang-guyok of Pyongyang, North Korea. It employs a small group of foreigners to revise translations of North Korean texts so as to make those texts suitable for foreign-language publication. The publishing house is under the control of the Propaganda and Agitation Department of the Workers' Party of Korea, which also makes decisions concerning its staff.
