Gothenburg Exhibition (1923)
The Gothenburg Tercentennial Jubilee Exposition (in Swedish ''Jubileumsutställningen i Göteborg'') was a world's fair held in Gothenburg, Sweden during 1923 marking 300th anniversary of the founding of the city. The fair opened 8 May and ran until 30 September. Exhibits and buildings One site was at Liseberg, an existing gardened area. It was opened to the public for the exhibition, hosted several pavilions, including an industrial art house, an exports exhibition, a congress hall and a machine hall and amusement rides including a carousel. The Arts and Craft Pavilion was designed by Hakon Ahlberg and the arts exhibition pavilion by architects Sigfrid Ericson (1879-1958) and Arvid Bjerke (1880-1952) . Balder (roller Coaster)
Balder is a wooden roller coaster at the Liseberg amusement park in Gothenburg, Sweden. It opened in 2003 and was an instant success. Balder is very different from a traditional wooden roller coaster because it is a prefabricated wooden roller coaster. This means that instead of trackers cutting, shaping, and laying down the track on site by hand, the track is laser cut in a factory. This means that the track is manufactured to a higher degree of precision than could ever be achieved by hand. The track is also made so that it snaps together like Lego pieces. The track also is made of more layers of wood that are tightly bonded together instead of nailed together by hand like a traditional wooden roller coaster. This has three major benefits, two being to the park and the other being to the riders. Sonya Hedenbratt
Sonya Elisabet Hedenbratt Bolin (4 March 1931 – 5 April 2001) was a Swedish singer and actress. She was considered one of the foremost female jazz singers in Sweden. Hedenbratt's breakthrough as a jazz singer came when she performed at the Nalen jazz club in Stockholm in 1951. Throughout her career, she mainly worked in Gothenburg, where she was born and where she lived all her life. She was part of the cast for several of Hasse & Tage's variety shows, including '' Gröna hund'' and '' Gula Hund'', and she also worked with musicians such as Jan Johansson, Gösta Bernhard, Putte Wickman, Charlie Norman and Beppe Wolgers.
