Depth Of Field
The depth of field (DOF) is the distance between the nearest and the furthest objects that are in acceptably sharp focus in an image captured with a camera. Factors affecting depth of field For cameras that can only focus on one object distance at a time, depth of field is the distance between the nearest and the farthest objects that are in acceptably sharp focus. "Acceptably sharp focus" is defined using a property called the "circle of confusion". The depth of field can be determined by focal length, distance to subject, the acceptable circle of confusion size, and aperture. Limitations of depth of field can sometimes be overcome with various techniques and equipment. The approximate depth of field can be given by: : \text \approx \frac for a given circle of confusion (c), focal length (f), f-number (N), and distance to subject (u). As distance or the size of the acceptable circle of confusion increases, the depth of field increases; however, increasing the size of ...

Degrees Of Freedom (mechanics)
In physics, the degrees of freedom (DOF) of a mechanical system is the number of independent parameters that define its configuration or state. It is important in the analysis of systems of bodies in mechanical engineering, structural engineering, aerospace engineering, robotics, and other fields. The position of a single railcar (engine) moving along a track has one degree of freedom because the position of the car is defined by the distance along the track. A train of rigid cars connected by hinges to an engine still has only one degree of freedom because the positions of the cars behind the engine are constrained by the shape of the track. An automobile with highly stiff suspension can be considered to be a rigid body traveling on a plane (a flat, two-dimensional space). This body has three independent degrees of freedom consisting of two components of translation and one angle of rotation. Skidding or drifting is a good example of an automobile's three independent degrees ...

Department Of Finance (Philippines)
The Department of Finance (DOF; fil, Kagawaran ng Pananalapi) is the executive department of the Philippine government responsible for the formulation, institutionalization and administration of fiscal policies, management of the financial resources of the government, supervision of the revenue operations of all local government units, the review, approval and management of all public sector debt, and the rationalization, privatization and public accountability of corporations and assets owned, controlled or acquired by the government. History The Department of Finance was established on March 17, 1897, at the same time that the Revolutionary Government was founded in Naic, Cavite. General Baldomero Aguinaldo was appointed Director of Finance by General Emilio Aguinaldo. The Finance Director became the Secretary of the Treasury under the first constitutional republican government, the Biak-na-Bato Republic. In 1901, the Department of Finance and Justice was formally organized ...

2,5-Dimethoxy-4-fluoroamphetamine
2,5-Dimethoxy-4-fluoroamphetamine (DOF) is a psychedelic drug of the phenethylamine and amphetamine classes. Alexander Shulgin briefly describes DOF in his book '' PiHKAL'': DOF showed some stimulating effects in humans, but no psychedelic activity, after three doses of 6 mg spaced by one hour. Daniel Trachsel further suspected that the molar refraction of the important 4-substituent in DOF and 2C-F may be too low to activate the 5-HT2A receptor sufficiently. DOF more closely mimics the effects of the 4-unsubstituted 2,5-dimethoxyamphetamine than the effects of DOC, DOB, and DOI. Dansk Ornitologisk Forening
Dansk Ornitologisk Forening (DOF), also known as the Danish Ornithological Society or BirdLife Denmark, is a Danish non-governmental non-profit organisation. Founded on 15 October 1906 by Eiler Lehn Schiøler and Hans Christian Cornelius Mortensen, it is the principal bird study and conservation organisation in the country and the Danish partner of BirdLife International. It has about 12,000 members in 12 local branches and administers 18 bird reserves. It publishes the journal ''Dansk Ornitologisk Forenings Tidsskrift'' (Journal of the Danish Ornithological Society) and the magazine ''Fugle og Natur'' (Birds and Nature). DOF was responsible for establishing the network of volunteer caretaker groups that watch over Denmark's 128 Important Bird Areas, and in the designation of Special Protection Areas which have legal protection under the European Union The European Union (EU) is a supranational political and economic union of member states that are located primarily ...

Diario Oficial De La Federación
The (DOF; translated variously as the ''Official Journal of the Federation'' or else as ''Official Gazette of the Federation''), published daily by the government of Mexico, is the main official government publication in Mexico. It was founded on September 28, 1848. Current issues express legally the political, economic and social institutions in Mexico, while the history of those same institutions can be read in older issues. The Official Journal is similar to other main governmental journals (as the United States ''Federal Register'' or the ''Canada Gazette''), but they differ from each other because they respond primarily to their type of government and secondly to their legal system. In the Official Journal, the main rules and regulations of the three branches of the federal government are published. This journal is the head of the set of the governmental journals in Mexico (every state and the Federal District has an official gazette for its jurisdiction, and also some ...

Degrees Of Freedom
Degrees of freedom (often abbreviated df or DOF) refers to the number of independent variables or parameters of a thermodynamic system. In various scientific fields, the word "freedom" is used to describe the limits to which physical movement or other physical processes are possible. This relates to the philosophical concept to the extent that people may be considered to have as much freedom as they are physically able to exercise. Applications Statistics In statistics, degrees of freedom refers to the number of variables in a statistic calculation that can vary. It can be calculated by subtracting the number of estimated parameters from the total number of values in the sample. For example, a sample variance calculation based on n samples will have n-1 degrees of freedom, because sample variance is calculated using the sample mean as an estimate of the actual mean. Mathematics In mathematics, this notion is formalized as the dimension of a manifold or an algebraic variety. ...

Depth Of Focus
Depth of focus is a lens optics concept that measures the tolerance of placement of the image plane (the film plane in a camera) in relation to the lens. In a camera, depth of focus indicates the tolerance of the film's displacement within the camera and is therefore sometimes referred to as "lens-to-film tolerance". ''Depth of focus'' versus ''depth of field'' The phrase ''depth of focus'' is sometimes erroneously used to refer to the ''depth of field'' (DOF), which is the area in front of the lens in acceptable focus, whereas the true meaning of ''depth of focus'' refers to the zone behind the lens wherein the film plane or sensor is placed to produce an in-focus image. ''Depth of focus'' can have two slightly different meanings. The first is the distance over which the image plane can be displaced while a single object plane remains in acceptably sharp focus; the second is the image-side conjugate of depth of field. With the first meaning, the depth of focus is symmetrical ab ...

Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland ( ga, Tuaisceart Éireann ; sco, label= Ulster-Scots, Norlin Airlann) is a part of the United Kingdom, situated in the north-east of the island of Ireland, that is variously described as a country, province or region. Northern Ireland shares an open border to the south and west with the Republic of Ireland. In 2021, its population was 1,903,100, making up about 27% of Ireland's population and about 3% of the UK's population. The Northern Ireland Assembly (colloquially referred to as Stormont after its location), established by the Northern Ireland Act 1998, holds responsibility for a range of devolved policy matters, while other areas are reserved for the UK Government. Northern Ireland cooperates with the Republic of Ireland in several areas. Northern Ireland was created in May 1921, when Ireland was partitioned by the Government of Ireland Act 1920, creating a devolved government for the six northeastern counties. As was intended, Northern Ireland ...
