B92
RTV B92, or simply B92 (stylized as b92, formerly BΞ92 and B 92), is a Serbian news station and broadcaster with national coverage headquartered in Belgrade. Founded in 1989 as radio station, it was a rare outlet for Western news and information in FR Yugoslavia under Slobodan Milošević, and was a force behind many demonstrations that took place in Belgrade during the turbulent 1990s. It also played rock music. Due to this, RTV B92 won the MTV Free Your Mind award in 1998, and many other awards for journalism and fighting for human rights. RTV B92 is the subject of the best-selling book ''This is Serbia Calling''. On 6 October 2000, the day following the overthrow of Slobodan Milošević, television B92 started broadcasting. ''Utisak nedelje'' ( sr-Cyrl, Утисак недеље; Impression of the Week) is a long-running Serbian political talk show hosted by Olja Bećković that airs live on TV channel Nova S. Airing live Sundays at 9pm and conceptualized as recap of the preceding week's events, the show mostly covers political topics with a panel of typically three guests. Depending on the topic covered in a given week, number of guests goes up to five or down to a single guest. Veran Matić ( sr-cyr, Веран Матић; born in 1962) is a Serbian media manager who served as the CEO of RTV B92 from its establishment in 1989 until 2019. He is also the Chairman of the Commission for investigating killings of journalists established in February 2013 on his initiative and supported by the Government of Serbia. In 1993, he was awarded a CPJ International Press Freedom Award by the US-based Committee to Protect Journalists, and in 2000, the Austria-based International Press Institute named him one of its fifty World Press Freedom Heroes of the last fifty years. Career Matić graduated from the University of Belgrade with a degree in world literature. Olja Bećković ( sr-cyr, Оља Бећковић; born 1 May 1964) is a Serbian journalist, actress and television presenter. She hosted political talk show ''Utisak nedelje'' (English: ''Impression of the Week'') from 1991 until 2014 and again as of 2019. Career Bećković studied drama in Belgrade and trained as an actress until the age of twenty five before switching over to journalism. In March 2014, Bećković received the Jug Grizelj Award. Her talk programme ''Utisak nedelje'' got taken off the air in September 2014 in controversial fashion. TV Avala (full legal name: TV Avala d.o.o., Serbian Cyrillic: ТВ Авала) was a Serbian television network with national frequency. Svetlana Lukić (born December 14, 1958) is a Serbian journalist. She was born in Belgrade and received a degree in journalism from the Belgrade College of Political Sciences.
