He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the

Manriquez retired after the 2013 season and joined the Texas Rangers organization as a coach in 2014. In 2014 he was a coach for the

Personal life

Manríquez grew up outside Valencia, Venezuela where his parents operated a business. He has a younger brother and sister. In elementary school, he met his wife, Lori, who he would marry in 2002. After retiring as a player, Manríquez befriended a U.S. Army recruiter while their sons were on the same swimming team. In 2020, at the age of 37, Manríquez enlisted in the U.S. Army with a military occupation specialty of 15U
