Spokane Indians
The Spokane Indians are a Minor League Baseball team located in Spokane Valley, the city immediately east of Spokane, Washington, in the Pacific Northwest. The Indians are members of the High-A Northwest League (NWL) as an affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. Spokane plays its home games at Avista Stadium, which opened in 1958 and has a seating capacity of 6,752. From 1958 through 1982, excluding 1972, the Indians were in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League (PCL). They were members of the Class A Short Season Northwest League from 1955 to 1956, in 1972, and from 1983 to 2020. The NWL operated as the High-A West in 2021 and was elevated to the High-A level. High-A
High-A (officially Class High-A, formerly known as Class A-Advanced, and sometimes abbreviated "A+" in writing) is the third-highest level of play in Minor League Baseball in the United States and Canada, below Triple-A and Double-A, and above Single-A. There are 30 teams classified at the High-A level, one for each team in Major League Baseball (MLB), organized into three leagues: the Midwest League, Northwest League, and South Atlantic League. Spokane Valley, Washington
Spokane Valley is a city in Spokane County, Washington, United States, and the largest suburb of Spokane. It is located east of Spokane, west of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and surrounds the city of Millwood on three sides. The city incorporated as the City of Spokane Valley on March 31, 2003. The population was 102,976 at the 2020 census, making it the eighth-largest city in Washington state. Spokane Valley is named after the valley of the Spokane River, in which it is located. Scott Little
Dennis Scott Little (born January 19, 1963) is an American former professional baseball outfielder. He played three games in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He currently works for the Colorado Rockies in the Player Development Department. Career Little, an outfielder, played collegiate football and baseball at the University of Missouri. He played in the 1981 Tangerine Bowl and was drafted by the New York Mets in the 7th round of the 1984 Major League Baseball Draft, playing three seasons in their minor league organization. On May 29, 1987, Little was traded, along with Al Pedrique, to the Pittsburgh Pirates, in exchange for Bill Almon. Playfair Race Course
Playfair Race Course (known as the Spokane Interstate Fair from 1901–1935) was the home of horse racing in Spokane, Washington, from 1901 The track started out as a four-furlong (half-mile) flat oval, and expanded to five furlongs () in 1946. The grandstand was on the west, with the home stretch heading south, and the stables were on the east side. The premier races run at the track were the Playfair Mile, Spokane Derby, and the Inland Empire Marathon. The final races were on and the track officially closed the following July. Redband trout are a group of three recognized subspecies of rainbow trout (''Oncorhynchus mykiss''). They occur in three distinct regions in Pacific basin tributaries and endorheic basins in the western United States. The three subspecies are the Columbia River redband trout (''O. m. gairdneri''), the McCloud River redband trout (''O. m. stonei'') and the Great Basin redband trout (''O. m. newberrii'').
