'', '' Limatulichthys'', and '' Pseudoloricaria''. ''Loricariichthys'' seems to be intermediate between ''Limatulichthys'' and ''Pseudoloricaria'' on one hand, and ''Furcodontichthys'' and ''Hemiodontichthys'' on the other. Although this genus is well diagnosed, the species are very similar and difficult to identify.
