With less time remaining and two massive totals from both sides on the board, the match was headed for a certain draw. This was the second time that both of them had won this award. After the match, Kohli presented his signed jerseys to Khawaja and Carey as a symbol of friendship, after the Australian team gave Pujara a signed kit earlier in the series for playing in his 100th test.
