In February 17 2021, Davido was listed as one of the Next Time 100 most world influential people and was crowned one of biggest voices in Afrobeats genre by ''Time Magazine''. In anticipation to his birthday (21 November, 2021), the afrobeat singer Davido took to his Instagram story to ask colleagues to each send him a million naira. Davido noted that he received N200m from fans and friends and added N50million. He donated N250million to all orphanages across Nigeria. The singer made this known in a statement ahead of the birthday. To disburse the money, he constituted a 5-man committee to take care of the logistics. Davido's fundraiser

On November 17, 2021, Davido challenged his friends and fans to send the sum of one million naira each to his bank account. Davido had put up a post on his Instagram and Twitter pages challenging his friends to show there love towards him by sending money to the account number he posted. He noted that anyone who doesn't come through with the challenge should not associate with him anymore. He was able to raise 200 million naira in total. He added 50 million naira of his own money and set up a panel to disburse the funds to orphanage homes in Nigeria. Davido shared a copy of the statement via Twitter with the caption "we rise by lifting others".


Personal life

Davido has four children 2 boys & 2 girls. He's engaged to chef Chioma Rowland, the mother of his third child, David Ifeanyi Adeleke Jr., now deceased. Davido married Chioma Rowland on November 6, 2022.


Death of son

On October 31, 2022, Peoples Gazette reported the death of David Ifeanyi Adeleke Jr., the first son and third child of Davido. He was three years old. Ifeanyi drowned in the private swimming pool at the Banana Island residence of the celebrity. Members of Davido's household staff were questioned by the police. A total of eight domestic workers were invited to the police station for questioning after one had initially gone to the police station to report the drowning accident of Ifeanyi. After investigations, six were eventually released by the police as they were not found culpable, with two still in detention.
