Crosses (usually stylized as †††) is the musical side project of Deftones singer Chino Moreno and Far guitarist Shaun Lopez, based in Los Angeles, California, and formed in 2011. History Debut EPs and self-titled release (2011–2014) Having recorded together previously, Deftones singer Chino Moreno began recording with childhood friend and neighbor Shaun Lopez, also of the band Far, as well as Chuck Doom. Moreno described the project as "minimal and soothing and it's sort of like the stuff I like listening to when I'm not screaming my head off." With a tentative title of Crosses as the name of the project, they began recording for over four hours a day, completing nearly 16 songs with plans to self-release a series of EPs. Shaun Lopez
Shaun Lopez is an American music producer, composer, and musician. Life and career Shaun is a founding member and guitarist for post-hardcore band Far. After a number of local releases, including their first demo tape, '' Sweat A River, Live No Lies'', and two independent albums '' Listening Game'' and ''Quick'', they signed to Epic/Immortal Records and released their major label debut, '' Tin Cans With Strings To You''. Their second major label LP, '' Water & Solutions'', was released in 1998. Thanks to the single, "Mother Mary", they attracted a large cult following. The more melodic sound showcased on this album is increasingly cited as an influence on present-day "emo rock" bands(i.e. Thursday, Biffy Clyro, Jimmy Eat World). Certainly, it was a departure from their earlier, much more hardcore sound, though it is still far from the emo-pop that it would quickly come to inspire. Quilmes Rock is a major Argentine rock festival, held annually from 2002 to 2004, and from 2007 on. It is named after its main sponsor, Cerveza Quilmes brewery. Dredg (stylized as dredg) is an American rock band formed in 1993 in Los Gatos, California. The band's lineup consists of vocalist Gavin Hayes, guitarist Mark Engles, bassist Drew Roulette and drummer and pianist Dino Campanella. Originally starting out as an alternative metal outfit, Dredg established themselves in the indie scene with their debut album '' Leitmotif'' (1999), which showed the band stylistically moving into progressive rock and art rock; the album's success landed them a deal with Interscope Records in 2001, who re-released the album later in the year.
