Shaun Lopez
Shaun Lopez is an American music producer, composer, and musician. Life and career Shaun is a founding member and guitarist for post-hardcore band Far. After a number of local releases, including their first demo tape, '' Sweat A River, Live No Lies'', and two independent albums '' Listening Game'' and ''Quick'', they signed to Epic/Immortal Records and released their major label debut, '' Tin Cans With Strings To You''. Their second major label LP, '' Water & Solutions'', was released in 1998. Thanks to the single, "Mother Mary", they attracted a large cult following. The more melodic sound showcased on this album is increasingly cited as an influence on present-day "emo rock" bands(i.e. Thursday, Biffy Clyro, Jimmy Eat World). Certainly, it was a departure from their earlier, much more hardcore sound, though it is still far from the emo-pop that it would quickly come to inspire. The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. Crosses (usually stylized as †††) is the musical side project of Deftones singer Chino Moreno and Far guitarist Shaun Lopez, based in Los Angeles, California, and formed in 2011. History Debut EPs and self-titled release (2011–2014) Having recorded together previously, Deftones singer Chino Moreno began recording with childhood friend and neighbor Shaun Lopez, also of the band Far, as well as Chuck Doom. Moreno described the project as "minimal and soothing and it's sort of like the stuff I like listening to when I'm not screaming my head off." With a tentative title of Crosses as the name of the project, they began recording for over four hours a day, completing nearly 16 songs with plans to self-release a series of EPs. Jimmy Eat World
Jimmy Eat World is an American rock band formed in 1993 in Mesa, Arizona. The band is composed of lead vocalist and lead guitarist Jim Adkins, rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist Tom Linton, bassist Rick Burch, and drummer Zach Lind. They have released ten studio albums, the last nine featuring the current lineup. The band currently consists of Geoff Rickly (lead vocals), Tom Keeley (lead guitar, backing vocals), Steve Pedulla (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Tim Payne (bass), and Tucker Rule (drums). ''Water & Solutions'' is the fourth album by American rock band Far. Background The album was recorded in April 1997, nearly a full year before being released in March 1998. During the 11 month interval, the band released the promotional ''Soon'' EP in October 1997, which contained two songs from the upcoming album, as well as a cover of the Jawbox song " Savory", and an acoustic version of the 1996 track "Sorrow's End". That year, the band also released a 7" vinyl split with Immortal Records label mates Incubus, and performed several songs from the still unreleased ''Water & Solutions'' on tour. Immortal Records was an American independent record label/imprint label based in Los Angeles, California. Post-hardcore
Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression. It was initially inspired by post-punk and noise rock. Like post-punk, the term has been applied to a broad constellation of groups.
