Øystein Norvoll
Øystein Norvoll (born 26 June 1954 in Tromsø, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz musician (guitar), who early was interested in and a winner of the "Gjett på Jazz" (1973). He is married to the vocalist Marit Sandvik and they gave birth to the artist Dagny Norvoll Sandvik (b. 1990). Career Norvoll was early inspired by the West Coast jazz guitarists Barney Kessel and Jim Hall. He was chairman of the Nordnorsk Jazzforum, og sentral i dennes utgivelse av ''Distant Reports'' med nordnorsk jazz (Gemini, 2001). Øystein Norvoll Quintet appeared at the Kongsberg Jazzfestival in 1988. Tromsø

Trond Sverre Hansen
Trond Sverre Hansen (born 27 January 1964 in Narvik, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz musician (drums). He is the son of jazz trombonist, Viggo Hansen and is considered one of the most prominent Norwegian drummers in the bebop genre. Career Hansen debuted at the age of 14 with the legendary north-Norwegian guitarist Thorgeir Stubø, and participated in his quartet (1981–82). In the early 1980s he also played within "Samasjyen" in Harstad, and was, in other words a very young contributor to Narviks vital jazz scene at this time. He appeared in Erling Wicklund's show ''Ung norsk jazz'' at NRK in the early 1990s, and played with regional musician group "Jazz i Nord" together with the pianist Jørn Øien, bassist Konrad Kaspersen and trombonist Øystein B. Kjell Bartholdsen
Kjell Bartholdsen (2 October 1938 in Hammerfest – 6 November 2009) was a Norwegian jazz musician (saxophone), that lived in Bodø from 1968. Career Bartholdsen was a piano tuner by profession, and he was also a central person on the northern Norwegian jazz scene. His instruments were tenor saxophone, and clarinet (in his early career). He played at Moldejazz in 1974, Nattjazz in 1975, Kongsberg Jazzfestival in 1976, Vossajazz in 1978 as well as several times in the Festival of North Norway and with Concerts Norway Concerts Norway ( no, Rikskonsertene) was established in 1967 on the initiative of the Arts Council Norway ( no, Norsk kulturråd), with its main purpose described as follows: "Concerts Norway is to make living music of high artistic quality acces .... Alf Kjellman
Alf Erling Kjellman (17 January 1938 in Tromsø - 14 September 2010) was a Norwegian jazz musician (tenor, baritone and alto saxophones), organizer and composer. Biography Kjellman led his own revue orchestra in Tromsø (1955 and 56), was member of the «Swinging Quartet» (1956–57), Sverre Lund Quartet (1958–59), performed saxophone and wrote arrangements for the local jazz club orchestra (1958–59). In 1959 he moved to Oslo and joined the Oslo jazz scene, first with Kjell Karlsen (1959), then with Ditlef Eckhoff (at the first Moldejazz in 1961). Kjellman also contributed to film music on '' Line (film)'' (1961) including with Atle Hammer, Frode Thingnæs, Mikkel Flagstad, Eilif Holm, Einar Iversen, Erik Amundsen and Egil Johansen. Stubøprisen
Stubøprisen (an Award initiated in 1989, in memory of the late guitar virtuoso and Northern Norway Enthusiast Thorgeir Stubø) is the highest honor given to a Northern Norwegian jazz musician. The award is given every second year to a person who makes or has made a special contribution to the Northern Norwegian Jazz Scene by the Thorgeir Stubø Memorial Fund (established 1987). The idea behind Thorgeir Stubø Memorial Fund is to honor a great jazz musician and simultaneously stimulate Northern Norwegian culture. The Stubøprisen Winners is awarded a grant of NKR 15 000 (2011) and a statuette created by the artist and sculptor Karl Erik Harr. Louis Stewart (guitarist)
Louis Stewart (5 January 1944 – 20 August 2016) was an Irish jazz guitarist. Life and career Born in Waterford, Ireland, Stewart grew up in Dublin. He began playing guitar when he was thirteen, influenced by guitarists Les Paul and Barney Kessel. Stewart began his professional career performing in Dublin showbands. In 1968, he won an award as the most outstanding soloist at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Soon after, he spent three years with Benny Goodman. Stewart recorded his debut album, ''Louis the First'' in Dublin, and then recorded in London with Billy Higgins, Peter Ind, Sam Jones (musician), Sam Jones, Red Mitchell, and Spike Robinson. From the mid to late 1970s, he worked with George Shearing, touring America, Brazil, and playing European festivals, and recording eight albums, including several for the MPS label in a virtuosic trio with Shearing and the Danish bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen. Randy Johnston (musician)
Randy Barksdale Johnston (born December 5, 1956) is an American jazz guitarist. Career The Beatles's performance on ''The Ed Sullivan Show'' inspired Johnston to start playing guitar in childhood. He heard jazz for the first time on the album ''The Smithsonian Collection of Jazz'' and was influenced by guitarists Kenny Burrell and Grant Green. Johnston's family moved to Richmond, Virginia, when he was thirteen. He was a member of rock bands that performed at parties and school dances. In the late 1970s he attended the University of Miami, occasionally involved in jam sessions at a Unitarian Church with Ira Sullivan. In the early 1980s he moved to New York City and worked with Warne Marsh, then as a sideman with Houston Person and Etta Jones. Oddmund Finnseth
Oddmund Jarle Finnseth (born 11 February 1957 in Sortland, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz musician (upright bass), composer and music teacher. Biography Finnseth studied music on the Jazz program at Trondheim musikkonservatorium (1983–86) and joined the Asmund Bjørken Orchestra during the time of his studies. Later he has recorded albums with 'Bjørn Krokfoss Octet' and the band 'Bossa Nordpå' (1993–) of Marit Sandvik. He was part of the Randy Johnston tour, led by Øystein Norvoll for the 'Nordnorsk Jazzsenter' (2002). Finnseth teaches music at the high school 'Sortland videregående skole' and 'Heggen videregående skole' in Harstad, and play in the bands 'Sortland Storband' and 'Steinar Kjeldsen Quartet'.
