Ørbæk
Ørbæk is a town in central Denmark, located in Nyborg municipality on the island of Funen. Ørbæk was until 2007 the seat of Ørbæk Municipality. History Ørbæk was first mentioned in 1231 as 'Ørbæc', which was the name of the brook that runs through the town. The town was formerly known as Ør, and the town later adopted the name of the brook. The name was likely changed in the late 1800s. In the 1800s, Ørbæk was an important village, located centrally with roads directly to Odense, Nyborg, Svendborg, Faaborg and Assens. This central position made it possible for Ørbæk to acquire facilities that other villages of the time didn't have, such as a postal office. With the construction of the Faaborg-Ringe-Nyborg railroad, Ørbæk was a station between Nyborg and Ringe. Ørbæk's history as a railroad station town lasted between 1897 and 1962. Ørbæk Municipality
Until January 1, 2007 Ørbæk Municipality was a municipality (Danish: '' kommune'') in the former Funen County, on the east coast of the island of Funen, in central Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 138.34 km2, and had a total population of 6,916 (2006). Its last mayor was Kaf Refslund, a member of the Venstre party. Ørbæk Municipality bordered Nyborg and Ullerslev Municipality to the north, Årslev Municipality to the northwest, Ringe Municipality to the west, Ryslinge Municipality to the southwest and Gudme Municipality to the south. The municipality ceased to exist as the result of ''Kommunalreformen 2007'' (the Municipality Reform of 2007). Kenneth Muhs
Kenneth Muhs (born 14 December 1972) is a Danish politician. He is a member of the party Venstre, and is the current mayor in Nyborg Municipality. Muhs is a major in the Danish Defence. Political career Muhs was first elected into political office at the 2001 Danish local elections, where he was elected as municipal councillor of Ørbæk Municipality. He remained a member of the municipal council until it was dissolved and merged with Nyborg and Ullerslev Municipality. Frilandsmuseet
Frilandsmuseet ( en, Open Air Museum) is an open-air museum on the northern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark. The museum is located in Lyngby on Kongevejen in North Zealand. The museum can be reached directly by bus number 184 from Nørreport Station in central Copenhagen or by S-train to Sorgenfri station. Buildings Opened in 1897, it moved to its present location in 1901. Covering 40 hectares, it is one of the largest and oldest open-air museums in the world. It is a department under the Danish National Museum and is part of the research done on agricultural history. The museum features more than 100 buildings from rural environments and dating from 1650-1950. All buildings are original and have been moved piece by piece from their original location save a windmill that is still found in its original location. Ringe is a town with a population of 6,474 (1 January 2022) on Funen in central Denmark. It is the seat of Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality and was the seat of the now abolished Ringe municipality. The main office of Rynkeby Foods, a major Danish producer of juice and squash, is located in Ringe. Landmarks Museum The Ringe Museum is the only existing museum in the town and is a vast part of its cultural history. In 1704, the building was constructed as a school, with many improvements and adjustments being made in 1737. Funen
Funen ( da, Fyn, ), with an area of , is the third-largest island of Denmark, after Zealand and Vendsyssel-Thy. It is the 165th-largest island in the world. It is located in the central part of the country and has a population of 469,947 as of 2020. Funen's main city is Odense, which is connected to the sea by a seldom-used canal.
