The Sentinels are a fictional variety of Mutant (Marvel Comics), mutant-hunting robots appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. They are typically depicted as antagonists to the X-Men. The Sentinels played a large role in the 1990s X-Men: The Animated Series, ''X-Men'' animated series and have been featured in several X-Men video games. The Sentinels are featured prominently in the 2014 film ''X-Men: Days of Future Past'' while Danger Room, simulated versions made brief appearances in the 2006 film ''X-Men: The Last Stand'' and the 2016 film ''X-Men: Apocalypse''. Mount Sentinel, originally known as "Mount Woody,"Cohen is a small mountain located immediately east of the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana, Missoula, Montana. History The University of Montana first received land on Mount Sentinel in 1902 when the Northern Pacific Railroad Company donated 40 acres at the foot and up the slope of the mountain. The Sentinel is a elevation Navajo Sandstone summit located near the Court of the Patriarchs in Zion National Park, in Washington County of southwest Utah, United States, that is part of the Towers of the Virgin. The national park map lists the elevation as 7,157-feet. Description The Sentinel is located north of Zion's park headquarters, towering above the park road and the floor of Zion Canyon. It is set alongside the North Fork of the Virgin River which drains precipitation runoff from this mountain. Sentinel Peak (Arizona)
Sentinel Peak is a peak in the Tucson Mountains southwest of downtown Tucson, Arizona, United States. The valley's first inhabitants grew crops at the mountain's base, along the Santa Cruz River. The name "Tucson" is derived from the O'odham ' (), meaning "t thebase of the black ill. In the 1910s, University of Arizona students used local basalt rock to construct a tall block "A" on the mountain's east face, near its summit, giving the peak its other name, "A" Mountain. The peak is part of a 272-acre (110 hectares) park, the largest natural resource park in the City of Tucson. Early history The fertile land at the base of Sentinel Peak was used for agriculture from until the 1930s. Sentinel Dome is a granite dome in Yosemite National Park, United States. It lies on the south wall of Yosemite Valley, southwest of Glacier Point and northeast of Profile Cliff. Sentinel Dome is known for a Jeffrey Pine that grew from its peak (see photograph). The pine was photographed as early as 1867 by Carleton Watkins, and was the subject of a well-known photograph by Ansel Adams.
