Panel Switch
The Panel Machine Switching System is a type of automatic telephone exchange for urban service that was used in the Bell System in the United States for seven decades. The first semi-mechanical types of this design were installed in 1915 in Newark, New Jersey, and the last were retired in the same city in 1983. The Panel switch was named for its tall panels which consisted of layered strips of terminals. Between each strip was placed an insulating layer, which kept each metal strip electrically isolated from the ones above and below. These terminals were arranged in ''banks'', five of which occupied an average selector frame. Each bank contained 100 sets of terminals, for a total of 500 sets of terminals per frame. The Panel (Irish TV Series)
''The Panel'' is a talk show produced by Happy Endings Productions for RTÉ, based on the Australian programme '' The Panel'', produced by Working Dog Productions for Network Ten. The theme song was "Waterfall" by The Stone Roses. Until 2006 it was hosted by Dara Ó Briain. Ó Briain, having presented ''Echo Island'', came to popular acclaim at home through his regular appearances in '' Don't Feed the Gondolas'', a topical comedy show in the same Monday night slot on Network 2. A panel van, also known as a blind van, car-derived van (United Kingdom) or sedan delivery (United States), is a small cargo vehicle with a passenger car chassis, typically with a single front bench seat and no side windows behind the B-pillar. Panel vans are smaller than panel trucks or cargo vans, both of which use body-on-frame truck chassis. As they are derived from passenger cars, the development of panel vans is typically closely linked with the passenger car models upon which they depend. North American panel vans were initially based upon the two-door station wagon models, while Europe's narrower roads dictated that panel vans utilize the smaller donor chassis of subcompact cars in that market. A longitudinal study (or longitudinal survey, or panel study) is a research design that involves repeated observations of the same variables (e.g., people) over short or long periods of time (i.e., uses longitudinal data). It is often a type of observational study, although it can also be structured as longitudinal randomized experiment. The Panel (Australian TV Series)
''The Panel'' was an Australian television talk show that was broadcast by Network Ten and its affiliates; it was also simulcast on the Triple M radio network. The show was produced by Working Dog Productions and included several members of the former D-Generation and ''The Late Show'' casts. The show featured a panel of five (originally six) people who discuss and joke about items in the news, current affairs, and pop culture. Episodes of ''The Panel'' screened at 9.30pm on Wednesday nights. Episodes were scheduled to run one hour but would often finish late, delaying the live news broadcast scheduled for 10.30pm immediately afterwards. The series premiered in 1998 and was very popular in its first few years. The show is currently considered to be on hiatus with the last regular episode airing in 2004. Panel Data
In statistics and econometrics, panel data and longitudinal data are both multi-dimensional data set, data involving measurements over time. Panel data is a subset of longitudinal data where observations are for the same subjects each time. Time series and cross-sectional data can be thought of as special cases of panel data that are in one dimension only (one panel member or individual for the former, one time point for the latter). A study that uses panel data is called a longitudinal study or panel study. Example In the multiple response permutation procedure (MRPP) example above, two datasets with a panel structure are shown and the objective is to test whether there's a significant difference between people in the sample data. Structural Insulated Panel
A structural insulated panel, or structural insulating panel, (SIP), is a form of sandwich panel used in the construction industry. SIP is a sandwich structured composite, consisting of an insulating layer of rigid core sandwiched between two layers of structural board, used as a building material. The board can be sheet metal, plywood, cement, Magnesium oxide wallboard, magnesium oxide board (MgO) or oriented strand board (OSB), and the core can either be expanded polystyrene, polystyrene foam (EPS), extruded polystyrene foam (XPS), polyisocyanurate foam, Polyurethane uses, polyurethane foam, or be composite honeycomb (HSC). A panel painting is a painting made on a flat panel of wood, either a single piece or a number of pieces joined together. Until canvas became the more popular support medium in the 16th century, panel painting was the normal method, when not painting directly onto a wall (fresco) or on vellum (used for miniatures in illuminated manuscripts). Wood panels were also used for mounting vellum paintings. A panel show or panel game is a radio broadcasting, radio or television game show in which a panel of celebrities participates.
