Nelli Mikhaylovna Abramova ('' rus, Не́лли Миха́йловна Абра́мова'') (born 18 August 1940, in Chelyabinsk) is a Jewish former Soviet competitive female volleyball player. She is an Olympic silver medallist (in 1964) and European champion (in 1967). Career Abramova played from 1956 until 1975, for clubs in the Russian SFSR and the Ukrainian SSR, winning the USSR Cup in 1974. Ottaviano Nelli
Ottaviano Nelli (1375–1444?) was an Italian painter of the early Quattrocento. Nelli primarily painted frescoes, but also panel paintings. He had several pupils and two painters were influenced by him. Biography He was born in Gubbio in Umbria to the painter Martino Nelli, and was active there and in Perugia (1400), Urbino, Assisi, and Foligno. Among his pupils was his brother Tommaso, Domenico Di Cecco di Baldi, Giovanni Pintali, Giacomo Di Bedo, and Ubaldo Di Matteo. Nelli was "consul" (a local government representative) for the Sant'Andrea district of Gubbio in 1440 and during the same year, the priors of Perugia had him paint the coat of arms of the duke Gian Galeazzo Visconti with the help of Francesco d'Antonio and Christoforo di Nicoluccio from Perugia. Renat Nelli (), who was born in Carcassonne, Aude in 1906 and died in 1982, was one of the major Occitan writers of the 20th century. In Vichy France, Nelli joined the French Resistance and in 1945 was one of the co-founders of the Institut d'Estudis Occitans. Herva Nelli (January 9, 1909May 31, 1994) was an Italian-American operatic soprano. Biography Named after the French socialist Gustave Hervé, she was born in Florence, where she attended a convent school. At the age of ten, however, she and her family left Italy for the United States, settling in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she later studied at the Pittsburgh Music Institute. In 1937, the soprano made her operatic debut with Brooklyn's Salmaggi Opera, as Santuzza in Mascagni's ''Cavalleria rusticana''. In ensuing seasons, she gained experience with that ensemble, presenting roles that would form the core of her repertoire, including Leonora in Verdi's '' La forza del destino'' (with Sydney Rayner as Don Alvaro, 1943) and another Leonora in Verdi's ''Il trovatore''. Alessandro Nelli (Rome, 28 January 1842 – Russia?, after 1897) was an Italian entrepreneur. Nelli was the founder of the Fonderia Nelli (Nelli Foundry), which was the leading sculpture foundry in Rome from 1880 to 1900. He participated to national, international and universal exhibitions, winning several prizes and medals. He exported more than 100 pieces to the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Sister Plautilla Nelli (1524–1588) was a self-taught nun-artist and the first ever known female Italian Renaissance painting, Renaissance painter of Florence. She was a nun of the Dominican convent, Dominican convent of St. Catherine of Siena located in San Marco, Florence, Piazza San Marco, Florence, and was heavily influenced by the teachings of Girolamo Savonarola, Savonarola and by the artwork of Fra Bartolomeo.
