Kairon, is a small historical Indian village of the historical places like Gurudwara Jhar Sahib . this village in the district of Tarn-Taran, located in the north-west of Punjab. The village is home to a majority of Dhillon Jatt Sikhs. The village Kairon has population of 13000 and draws its fame for being the home village of the Kairon political family. The family has produced political leaders such as Nihal Singh Kairon, Pratap Singh Kairon, Jaswant Singh Kairon, Surinder Singh Kairon, Gurinder Singh Kairon and Adesh Pratap Singh Kairon . Currently, Adesh Pratap Singh Kairon who is married to the daughter of Parkash Singh Badal is the head of the family. Partap Singh Kairon (1 October 1901 – 6 February 1965) was the Chief Minister of the Punjab province (then comprising Punjab, Haryana and part of Himachal Pradesh), and is widely acknowledged as the architect of post-Independence Punjab Province (or Punjab, Haryana and Himachal as of today). Moreover, he was an Indian independence movement leader. He was jailed twice by the British Empire, once for five years for organizing protests against British rule. His political influence and views are still considered to dominate politics in Punjab. Early life Partap Singh Kairon was born on 1 October 1901, into a DhillonJat Sikh family. Surinder Singh Kairon
Surinder Singh Kairon (8 December 1927 – 16 March 2009) was an Indian politician from Punjab. He was a member of Indian National Congress and represented Taran Taran in 10th Lok Sabha. He was son of ex-chief minister of Punjab, Partap Singh Kairon. He was a member of Punjab Vidhan Sabha before being elected to the Lok Sabha. His son Adesh Partap Singh Kairon is married to Parkash Singh Badal's daughter Preneet Kaur. He died after suffering a massive cardiac arrest in Amritsar on 16 March 2009. Adesh Pratap Singh Kairon (born 1959) is a politician from Punjab, India. He is a four-time Member of Legislative Assembly in the Punjab Legislative Assembly from the Patti Constituency. He has served thrice as a minister. He has held the portfolios of Excise and Taxation, Food and IT. Kairon belongs to the Kairon political family and was the longest served minister in the state of Punjab. Harcharan Singh Brar (21 January 1922 – 6 September 2009) was an Indian politician belonging to the Punjab unit of Indian National Congress. He was the 13th Chief Minister of Punjab and held this position from 31 August 1995 to 21 November 1996. He succeeded the assassinated Chief Minister Beant Singh. Parkash Singh Badal ( pa, ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ; born 8 December 1927) is an Indian politician who was Chief Minister of Punjab state from 1970 to 1971, from 1977 to 1980, from 1997 to 2002, and from 2007 to 2017. The decennial Census of India has been conducted 16 times, as of 2021. While it has been undertaken every 10 years, beginning in 1872 under British Viceroy Lord Mayo, the first complete census was taken in 1881.
