Paul Magnette
Paul Magnette (born 28 June 1971) is a Belgian politician for the Socialist Party, the current mayor of Charleroi and former political science professor at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). He was the 13th Minister-President of Wallonia from 2014 to 2017. Biography Born on 28 June 1971 in Leuven, he grew up in Charleroi and studied political science at ULB – Free University of Brussels (1989–1994) and at Cambridge University (1994–1995). The Sambre (; nl, Samber, ) is a river in northern France and in Wallonia, Belgium. It is a left-bank tributary of the Meuse, which it joins in the Wallonian capital Namur. The source of the Sambre is near Le Nouvion-en-Thiérache, in the Aisne ''département''. It passes through the Franco-Belgian coal basin, formerly an important industrial district.
