Lost Generation
The Lost Generation was the social generational cohort in the Western world that was in early adulthood during World War I. "Lost" in this context refers to the "disoriented, wandering, directionless" spirit of many of the war's survivors in the early postwar period. The term is also particularly used to refer to a group of American expatriate writers living in Paris during the 1920s. Gertrude Stein is credited with coining the term, and it was subsequently popularised by Ernest Hemingway, who used it in the epigraph for his 1926 novel ''The Sun Also Rises'': "You are all a lost generation." In a more general sense, the Lost Generation is considered to be made up of individuals born between 1883 and 1900. The band was formed in 1999, under the original name Transistor Revolt. After signing a recording contract with Fat Wreck Chords, they changed their name to Rise Against, and released '' The Unraveling'' in 2001, and ''Revolutions Per Minute'' in 2003. ''Generations Lost'' is a platform game released for the Sega Genesis in 1994 by Time Warner Interactive. Designer Bruce Straley described the game as a clone of the 1993 X-Men (which he and other Pacific Softscape employees had worked on), after Pacific Softscape were unable to secure the rights to the X-Men franchise to develop a sequel. Plot The player takes on the role of a young man named Monobe who is searching for the past of his people. Monobe has always wanted to know the origins and destiny of his people. Prince Edward County is located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 21,849. Its county seat is Farmville. The Up to the Mountains and Down to the Countryside Movement, often known simply as the Down to the Countryside Movement, was a policy instituted in the People's Republic of China between mid 1950s and 1978. As a result of what he perceived to be pro-bourgeois thinking prevalent during the Cultural Revolution, Chairman Mao Zedong declared certain privileged urban youth would be sent to mountainous areas or farming villages to learn from the workers and farmers there. In total, approximately 17 million youth were sent to rural areas as a result of the movement. Usually only the oldest child had to go, but younger siblings could volunteer to go instead. Chairman Mao's policy differed from Chinese President Liu Shaoqi's early 1960s sending-down policy in its political context. ''Lost Generation'' was the second major label album by singer-songwriter Elliott Murphy produced by Paul A. Rothchild and recorded at Elektra Studio in Los Angeles and was reviewed by Paul Nelson in Rolling Stone. The album featured an all-star band of top session musicians including drummer Jim Gordon and keyboardist Richard Tee. The cover photo of Murphy standing in front of an open parachute was taken by photographer Ed Caraeff. Employment Ice Age ( ja, 就職氷河期, Shūshoku Hyōgaki) (or Lost Generation) is a term in Japan that refers to people who became accustomed to unstable and temporary employment beginning in the 1990s and until at least 2010. This period has particularly affected Gen X (people in their 40s and 50s in 2020) and impacted their financial well-being, health, outlook, and ability to start families. Given Japan's aging population, there is concern that government focus on the elderly has overshadowed those too poor to have ever started a family, who themselves will be moving into old age largely devoid of the financial resources other generations had. Lance Taylor (born on April 17, 1957), also known as Afrika Bambaataa (), is an American DJ, rapper, and producer from the South Bronx, New York. He is notable for releasing a series of genre-defining electro tracks in the 1980s that influenced the development of hip hop culture. Afrika Bambaataa is one of the originators of breakbeat DJing. Through his co-opting of the street gang the Black Spades into the music and culture-oriented Universal Zulu Nation, he has helped spread hip hop culture throughout the world.
