Turun Palloseura, commonly known as TPS, is a professional football club based in Turku, Finland. During the 2024 season, the men's first team of the club competes in new Ykkösliiga, the second highest tier of men's football, and the women's representative team in the Kansallinen Liiga, the highest level of women's football in Finland. Nicknamed "''Tepsi''", the club was founded in 1922. TPS have won 8 League titles and 3 Finnish Cups. Veritas Stadion
Veritas Stadion is an association football stadium in Turku, Finland. It is situated in the district of Kupittaa, in an area dedicated to sporting venues. The stadium serves as the home venue for FC Inter Turku and Turun Palloseura playing in Finland's premier football league, the ''Veikkausliiga''. The stadium underwent an expansion in 2009, when a stand with 1,644 seats was built to meet the demands for the UEFA Women's Euro 2009. The stadium has a capacity of 9,372 spectators, with 8,072 seats and 1,300 standing places. In Veritas Stadion there are two stands opposite to each other. The old Olympic stand (Olympiakatsomo) was built for the 1952 Summer Olympics and the new, modern main stand was ready in 2003. Veikkausliiga
Veikkausliiga (; sv, Tipsligan) is the premier division of Finnish football, the highest tier of the Finnish football league structure, comprising the top 12 clubs of the country. Its main sponsor is the Finnish national betting agency Veikkaus, hence the league's name. Veikkausliiga was founded in 1990; before that the top division was called ''Mestaruussarja'' (championship series) since 1930 which was an amateur or semi-professional league. Between 1908 and 1930 the championship was decided as a knock-out cup competition. KPV (or Kokkolan Palloveikot) is a Finnish football club, based in Kokkola. It currently plays in the Finnish First Division (''Ykkönen''). FC Honka
FC Honka is a Finnish football club based in Espoo. It was founded in 1957 as Tapion Honka, and changed its name to FC Honka in 1975. The club currently play in the Finnish premier division (''Veikkausliiga''), having been promoted for the first time in their history at the end of the 2005 season. It plays its home matches at the Tapiolan Urheilupuisto. FC Honka is largely renowned in Finland for its extensive youth scheme with over 1,000 youth players playing in various age groups. 2018 Veikkausliiga
The 2018 Veikkausliiga was the 88th season of top-tier football in Finland. HJK were the defending champions. Fixtures for the 2018 season were announced on 17 January 2017. The season started on 7 April 2018 and ended on 27 October 2018. Teams JJK were relegated to Ykkönen after finishing at the bottom of the 2017 season. Their place was taken by Ykkönen champions TPS. HIFK as 11th-placed team lost their Veikkausliiga spot after losing to second-placed Ykkönen team FC Honka in a relegation/promotion playoff. Paavo Nurmi Stadion
Paavo Nurmi Stadium ( fi, Paavo Nurmen stadion, sv, Paavo Nurmis stadion) is a multi-use stadium in Turku, Finland. It is currently used mostly for football matches and athletics meets. It holds 13,000 people and is named after the Turku-born runner Paavo Nurmi. Twenty athletics world records have been set at the stadium. Marco Casagrande (footballer)
Marco Casagrande (born 4 April 1972) is a Finnish sports executive and a former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He is currently the secretary general of the Football Association of Finland, having started in the position in 2013. Playing career Casagrande started playing for local clubs Åbo IFK and Turun Pallo. He spent most of his playing career with Turun Palloseura (TPS) and captained the team. Pasi Rautiainen
Pasi Pentti Rautiainen (born 18 July 1961) is Finnish football manager and former player. He has coached PK-35, FC Jokerit and FC KooTeePee in Finland and FC Levadia Tallinn and FC Flora Tallinn in Estonia. His last club was TPS. Rautiainen was very talented as a young player, and he joined Bayern Munich at the age of just 18 in 1980. He only made one appearance for the club, but was still named German champion with Bayern in the 1980–81 season. Rautiainen later made 115 appearances in the Bundesliga for Werder Bremen (1981–82) and Arminia Bielefeld (1982–1985), scoring 14 goals. He also played in the 2. Martti Kuusela
Martti Kuusela (born 9 October 1945 in Rovaniemi) is a Finnish football manager and former midfielder. Kuusela enjoyed a moderately successful career as a player in Finland. As a coach, he won the Finnish championship in 1981 and 1990 with HJK Helsinki. He was the head coach of the Finnish national team from 1982 to 1987, helping the team to the brink of qualifying for the 1986 World Cup. Kuusela has worked as coach in Belgium, Greece, Cyprus, Denmark and Hungary. He led Budapest Honvéd FC to the Hungarian championship in 1993. Kuusela coached Aris Thessaloniki F.C. in Greece in 2005. On 15 January 2008, TPS announced they had appointed Kuusela as their new manager. He took the reins at TPS when the previous manager Mixu Paatelainen left the club to become manager of Scottish club Hibernian.
