The Time-Bombed Skyscraper
''Case Closed: The Time Bombed Skyscraper'', known as in Japan, is a 1997 Japanese animated feature film based on Gosho Aoyama's ''Case Closed'' manga series and featuring detective Jimmy Kudo. The film takes place between episodes 54 and 55. Funimation released the film in North America. Plot Mortimer Cornhouser, a wealthy heart surgeon, is murdered in his own home, bludgeoned with a miniature statue that was left behind. Also at the scene is an unnatural bloodstain on the floor near the body. He left a dying message using his blood to type the keys on his computer’s keyboard: JUN. The suspects are Mortimer’s wife, Mina, his son Magnum, and housekeeper Manami Goodsbe. When Richard wrongly accuses Mina on the grounds that “JUN” in Japan is “Minazuki” and Mina was born in June, Conan tranquilizes him. Monica Rial
Monica Jean Rial (born October 5, 1975) is an American voice actress and ADR script writer affiliated with Funimation and Seraphim Digital/Sentai Filmworks. She provides voices for English language versions of Japanese anime films and television series. Career Rial's first voice-over role was some walla in the 1999 dub of ''Martian Successor Nadesico''. In an interview with Otaku News, Rial said she had to talk for two minutes straight as folks in a crowd telling the Jovians to go home. She would later land main character roles as Miharu in ''Gasaraki'', Natsume in ''Generator Gawl'', and Hello Kitty in '' Hello Kitty's Animation Theater'', the last of which was one of ADV's best-selling DVDs. In 2001, she voiced Izumi in the baseball anime ''Princess Nine'' and in 2002, she got to voice Hyatt in ''Excel Saga'', which she listed among her absolute favorites. Richard Moore (Case Closed)
The manga series ''Case Closed'', known as in Japan, features a large number of recurring fictional characters created by Gosho Aoyama. The series takes place in modern-day Japan and follows an amateur detective Jimmy Kudo (Japanese name: Shinichi Kudo) who solves cases in an episodic fashion while in his childhood body and under the alias Conan Edogawa. He is joined by childhood friend Rachel Moore (Ran Mori) and her father Richard Moore (Kogoro Mori), who runs a detective agency.
