''The Parkers'' is an American television sitcom created by Ralph Farquhar, Sara V. Finney and Vida Spears, which aired on UPN from August 30, 1999, to May 10, 2004, lasting five seasons. The series stars Mo'Nique, Countess Vaughn, Dorien Wilson, Jenna von Oÿ, Yvette Wilson, Ken L., and Mari Morrow. It centers on the relationship between a mother and daughter, Nikki and Kim Parker, who reside outside of Los Angeles, in Santa Monica, California, while both attending the local Santa Monica College. Sitcom
A sitcom, a portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. 1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The number "1080" refers to the number of horizontal lines on the screen. Thomas Mikal Ford (September 5, 1964 – October 12, 2016) was an American actor and comedian. He was best known for his role as Thomas "Tommy" Strawn on the FOX sitcom ''Martin'', which originally aired from 1992 until 1997. He also had a recurring role as Mel Parker in the UPN sitcom ''The Parkers'' from 1999 until 2001. He was also known for his role as Lt.
