''The Beautiful Miller'' (german: Die schöne Müllerin) is a 1954 West German romantic drama film directed by Wolfgang Liebeneiner and starring Waltraut Haas, Gerhard Riedmann and Hertha Feiler.Bock & Bergfelder p.216 It was made at the Tempelhof Studios in West Berlin. The film's sets were designed by the art directors Willi Herrmann and Heinrich Weidemann. It was shot using Gevacolor. Wolfgang Liebeneiner
Wolfgang Georg Louis Liebeneiner (6 October 1905 – 28 November 1987) was a German actor, film director and theatre director. Beginnings He was born in Lubawka, Liebau in Prussian Silesia. In 1928, he was taught by Otto Falckenberg, the director of the Munich Kammerspiele, in acting and directing. Nazi era In 1936, Liebeneiner became a member of the Konzerthaus Berlin, Prussian State Theater () in Berlin and in 1938, he became artistic director of the German Film Academy Potsdam-Babelsberg, Babelsberg (). In 1941, he directed the film ''Ich klage an'' (''I accuse'') in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda. The film was about Euthanasia, voluntary euthanasia of a woman suffering from multiple sclerosis, but was intended to support the Action T4, T4 euthanasia program. Harald Paulsen
Harald Paulsen (26 August 1895 – 4 August 1954) was a German stage and film actor and director. He appeared in 125 films between 1920 and 1954. Career Paulsen first appeared on stage at age sixteen. He then studied under from Leopold Jessner, who was then senior director at Hamburg's Thalia Theater. He made his debut at the Hamburg Stadttheater in 1913. From 1915 until 1917, he served in the German Army during World War I. in 1917–18 he played at the Fronttheater in Mitau. In 1919 he was brought to the Deutsches Theater in Berlin by Max Reinhardt. From his extensive theatrical work, his role as "Mackie Messer" ("Mack the Knife") in the world premiere of Bertolt Brecht's ''The Threepenny Opera'' is particularly noteworthy. Albert Peter Adam Florath (7 December 1888, Bielefeld – 11 March 1957, Gaildorf) was a German stage and film actor. Early life and education Born to Joseph Florath, a locksmith, and his wife Matilda, née Burkart, he attended school in Brakel and the Realgymnasium in Paderborn. He was bailiff candidate in Delbrück, where he was active in the welfare, church and school department and the police administration. Acting career Florath gained first stage experience in amateur dramatic groups of local clubs in Delbrück. Wolfgang Neuss
Wolfgang Neuss (3 December 1923 – 5 May 1989) was a German actor and Kabarett artist. Beginning in the mid-1960s, he also became famous for his political engagement, first for the SPD, then for the extra-parliamentary opposition, ''APO''. He died in 1989 from a longtime cancer. At the age of 15 he went to Berlin to become a clown but was dismissed. When Germany entered into the Second World War Neuss was drafted, first to the Reich Labour Service where he was occupied with road construction. Later he was sent to the Eastern Front where he became injured and was rewarded with the Iron Cross. It was during his stays in military hospitals and, after the war during military detention that Neuss began to discover his interest in acting and for Kabarett. Paul Hörbiger (29 April 1894 – 5 March 1981) was an Austrian theatre and film actor. Life and work Paul Hörbiger was born in the Hungarian capital Budapest, then part of Austria-Hungary, the son of engineer Hanns Hörbiger, founder of the ''Welteislehre'' cosmological concept, and elder brother of actor Attila Hörbiger. In 1902, the family returned to Vienna, while Paul attended the '' gymnasium'' (high school) at St. Paul's Abbey in Carinthia. Having obtained his ''Matura'' degree, he served in a mountain artillery regiment of the Austro-Hungarian Army in World War I, discharged in 1918 with the rank of an ''Oberleutnant''.
