Needle Remover
A needle remover is a device used to physically remove a Hypodermic needle, needle from a syringe. In developing countries, there is still a need for improvements in needle safety in hospital settings as most of the needle removal processes are done manually and under severe risk of hazard from needles puncturing skin risking infection. These countries cannot afford needles with individual safety devices attached, so needle-removers must be used to remove the needle from the syringe. This lowers possible pathogen spread by preventing the reuse of the syringes, reducing incidents of accidental needle-sticks, and facilitating syringe disposal. Background In regions surveyed by the World Health Organization (WHO) in the early 2000's, the reported number of needlestick injury, needle-stick injuries in developing world countries ranged from .93 to 4.68 injuries per person and per year, which is five times higher than in industrialized nations.Department of Essential Health Technology. ...

Polish Remover
Acetone (2-propanone or dimethyl ketone), is an organic compound with the formula . It is the simplest and smallest ketone (). It is a colorless, highly volatile and flammable liquid with a characteristic pungent odour. Acetone is miscible with water and serves as an important organic solvent in its own right, in industry, home, and laboratory. About 6.7 million tonnes were produced worldwide in 2010, mainly for use as a solvent and production of methyl methacrylate (and from that PMMA) as well as bisphenol A.Acetone

Staple Remover
A staple remover (also known as a destapler) is a device that allows for the quick removal of a staple from a material without causing damage. The best-known form of staple remover, designed for light-gauge staples, consists of two opposing, pivot-mounted pairs of thin, steep wedges and a spring that returns the device to the open position after use. Although a simple metal wedge can be used for the same purpose, and although some staplers (especially small ones about long) feature such a wedge at their hinge end, use of the wedge tends to tear fragile papers. Use Proper use of the opposing wedge staple remover is debated; the two major methods are described below. Original method The user clips the front flat side of the staple, forcing the folded tabs on the reverse side to open and pull through the entry holes. Although this method is quick, it may tear the paper during removal. The inventor of the original staple remover, William G. Pankonin, illustrates this method of r ...

Remove (education)
A Remove class in education is or was a group of students at an English public school, typically a year group: for example the year group between the fourth form and the fifth form. In the state maintained secondary schools the Remove class described a class for pupils who had already moved through Fifth Form (Year 11) but needed to resit the Ordinary Level ('O'level) GCE examination. The name originally described the pupils who had been removed (moved on an academic year) from the class described as the Shell. The latter name originates from Westminster School where junior pupils were taught in an alcove which resembled a shell. Over time usage evolved differently across individual schools. Examples at various schools: * At Ampleforth College, the ‘remove’ class (Year 11) is the year between 2nd form (Year 10) and middle 6th (year 12). This is still applicable today. * At Bancroft's School, the ‘Removes’ are pupils in their second year of secondary education (Year 8). ...

Cousin Chart
Consanguinity ("blood relation", from Latin '' consanguinitas'') is the characteristic of having a kinship with another person (being descended from a common ancestor). Many jurisdictions have laws prohibiting people who are related by blood from marrying or having sexual relations with each other. The degree of consanguinity that gives rise to this prohibition varies from place to place. Such rules are also used to determine heirs of an estate according to statutes that govern intestate succession, which also vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. In some places and time periods, cousin marriage is allowed or even encouraged; in others, it is taboo, and considered to be incest. The degree of relative consanguinity can be illustrated with a ''consanguinity table'' in which each level of lineal consanguinity (''generation'' or ''meiosis'') appears as a row, and individuals with a collaterally consanguineous relationship share the same row. The Knot System is a numerical notatio ...
