Peter Handyside
Peter David Handyside (31 July 1974 – 9 February 2024) was a Scottish professional association football, footballer who played as a centre-back from 1992 until 2007. Despite being Scottish, Handyside played his entire career in England, having initially came through the youth ranks at Heston Rovers F.C., Heston Rovers he was scouted by Grimsby Town F.C., Grimsby Town who signed him as a junior before promoting him to the first team in 1992. Handyside went on to make over 200 appearances for Grimsby in all competitions and was in the team that won the Football League Second Division play-offs and Football League Trophy during the 1997–98 season. In 2001 after nine years at Blundell Park, Handyside joined Stoke City F.C., Stoke City who he went on to captain and eventually earning promotion out of the Second Division like he had previously done at Grimsby. Dumfries
Dumfries ( ; sco, Dumfries; from gd, Dùn Phris ) is a market town and former royal burgh within the Dumfries and Galloway council area of Scotland. It is located near the mouth of the River Nith into the Solway Firth about by road from the Anglo-Scottish border and just away from Cumbria by air. Dumfries is the county town of the historic county of Dumfriesshire. Before becoming King of Scots, Robert the Bruce killed his rival the Red Comyn at Greyfriars Kirk in the town on 10 February 1306. Mark Lever
Mark Lever (born 29 March 1970) is an English former professional association football, footballer and coach who played as a Defender (association football), defender from 1988 until 2005. Lever came through the youth ranks at Grimsby Town F.C., Grimsby Town in 1988. He became a first team regular in the early nineties and was part of the team that won promotion via the Football League Second Division play-off final and the Football League Trophy during the 1997–98 season. Lever spent the first twelve years of his career with Grimsby and departed the club in 2000 when he joined Bristol City F.C., Bristol City. Injuries prevented him from making a real impact at Ashton Gate Stadium, Ashton Gate and after two years he moved on again to Mansfield Town F.C., Mansfield Town. Tony Pulis
Anthony Richard Pulis (; born 16 January 1958) is a Welsh football manager and former footballer who last managed Sheffield Wednesday. Pulis obtained his FA coaching badge at age 19, followed by his UEFA 'A' licence aged 21 – making him one of the youngest professional players ever to have obtained the qualification. His son, Anthony, was a professional footballer and played at Stoke. Pulis had a 17-year career as a defender where he played for Bristol Rovers, Newport County, AFC Bournemouth and Gillingham. He also had a short spell in Hong Kong with Happy Valley. Pulis took his first steps into management at Bournemouth, where he was a player/coach and then Harry Redknapp's assistant. Lewes () is the county town of East Sussex, England. It is the police and judicial centre for all of Sussex and is home to Sussex Police, East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, Lewes Crown Court and HMP Lewes. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. Brentford is a suburban town in West London, England and part of the London Borough of Hounslow. It lies at the confluence of the River Brent and the Thames, west of Charing Cross. The 2002 Football League Second Division play-off Final was an association football match which was played on 11 May 2002 at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, between Brentford and Stoke City. It was to determine the third and final team to gain promotion from the Football League Second Division, the third tier of the English football league system, to the First Division. The top two teams of the 2001–02 Football League Second Division league, Brighton & Hove Albion and Reading, gained automatic promotion to the First Division, while the teams placed from third to sixth place took part in play-offs semi-finals; the winners then competed for the final place for the 2002–03 season in the First Division. Zhang Enhua
Zhang Enhua (; 28 April 1973 – 29 April 2021) was a Chinese professional football player and coach. As a player, he was a defender from 1994 to 2006 and represented Dalian Wanda FC, Grimsby Town, Tianjin Teda and South China while internationally he was a participant at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Richard Geoffrey Smith (born 3 October 1970) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender from 1988 until 2001. He notably played in the Premier League for Leicester City, having also played for Nuneaton Borough and Cambridge United on loan. He joined Grimsby Town in 1996 and remained with the club until 2001 where he then retired through injury.
