Magic!
Magic! (stylized in all uppercase) is a Canadian reggae fusion band from Toronto. Based in Los Angeles, the band comprises lead vocalist, guitarist/producer Nasri Atweh, guitarist/keyboardist Mark "Pelli" Pellizzer, and bassist Ben Spivak. Active since 2012, the band is signed with Latium, Sony, and RCA Records, releasing their debut studio album ''Don't Kill the Magic'' in 2014, their second studio album ''Primary Colours'' in 2016, and their third studio album ''Expectations'' in 2018. They are best known for their hit single "Rude", which charted at No. 1 in several countries worldwide, including the US and UK. Reggae Fusion
Reggae fusion is a genre of reggae that mixes reggae and/or dancehall with other genres, such as pop, rock, hip hop, R&B, jazz, funk, soul, disco, electronic and latin. Origin Although artists have been mixing reggae with other genres from as early as the early 1970s, no official term had been used to describe this practice. Artists such as UB40 were described using terms that joined the various genres they performed (e.g. "reggae funk", "reggae pop", "reggae-disco"). It was not until the late 1990s when the term was coined. The subgenre predominantly evolved from late 1980s and early 1990s dancehall music which instrumentals or "riddims" contained elements from the R&B and hip hop genres. ''Primary Colours'' is the second full-length studio album by Canadian reggae fusion band MAGIC! The album was released on July 1, 2016, through Latium and RCA Records worldwide. It serves as the follow-up to the band's debut studio album, ''Don't Kill the Magic'' (2014). The album was led by the single "Lay You Down Easy", featuring Sean Paul. Background The group released their debut single "Rude" in late 2013, eventually achieving commercial success worldwide, reaching atop the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for six consecutive weeks. The Canadian Hot 100 is a music industry record chart in Canada for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. The Canadian Hot 100 was launched on the issue dated March 31, 2007, and is currently the standard record chart in Canada; a new chart is compiled and officially released to the public by ''Billboard'' on Tuesdays but post-dated to the following Saturday. The chart is similar to ''Billboard''s US-based Hot 100 in that it combines physical and digital sales as measured by Nielsen SoundScan, streaming activity data provided by online music sources, and radio airplay as measured by Broadcast Data Systems. Staggered Crossing, sometimes nicknamed StagX, were a Canadian rock band formed in 1996 in Toronto. History Early years The original group was formed in 1996 (according to some sources about 1997) in Toronto by four high school friends, Julian Taylor (JT), David E.G. Marshall, Dan Black and Jeremy Elliott. The group quickly gained a local following in North Toronto due to their frequent performances. Later in 1996 they recorded their first EP with Toronto musician and producer, Darrell O'Dea In 1997 David Marshall quit the group because he had entered the University of Montreal. The group had to find a new lead guitarist. They re-formed the group cast by adding Darrell O'Dea, their producer, and having found a new guitarist Bruce Adamson. The Police

Adam "Messy" Messinger is a Grammy Award-winning Canadians, Canadian songwriter, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist currently based in Los Angeles, California. Reggae () is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1960s. The term also denotes the modern popular music of Jamaica and its diaspora. A 1968 single by Toots and the Maytals, " Do the Reggay" was the first popular song to use the word "reggae", effectively naming the genre and introducing it to a global audience.
