''The Fox of Glenarvon'' (German: ''Der Fuchs von Glenarvon'') is a German propaganda film from the Nazi era portraying the years of the Irish fight for independence during World War I. It was produced in 1940 by Max W. Kimmich and starred Olga Tschechowa, Karl Ludwig Diehl, Ferdinand Marian and others. The screenplay was written by Wolf Neumeister and Hans Bertram after a novel of the same title by Nicola Rhon (Maria von Kirchbach) that had been published at Ullstein publishing house in 1937. It was made at the Johannisthal Studios in Berlin, with sets designed by the art directors Wilhelm Depenau and Otto Erdmann. The shoot lasted from December 1939 to February 1940. It passed censorship on 22 April 1940 and had its debut in Berlin's Ufa-Palast am Zoo two days later. ''The Court Concert'' (german: Das kleine Hofkonzert) is a 1948 German musical comedy film written and directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Elfie Mayerhofer, Hans Nielsen and Erich Ponto. In the United States it was released as ''Palace Scandal''. It is based on the 1935 musical comedy '' The Court Concert'' (music: Edmund Nick) which Verhoeven had co-written. A previous film version was made in 1936 and directed by Douglas Sirk. The remake was shot using agfacolor. Both productions are in the tradition of operetta films. It was produced by the major studio Tobis Film during 1944, but was not given a formal release until 1948 in Sweden and then East and West Germany the following year. Despite the fact that there already was a German silent film produced in 1912 just four weeks after the sinking and a British company had released a German-language film about the disaster in 1929, the film was commissioned by Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels with the intent of showing not only the superiority of German filmmaking, but also as a propaganda vehicle which would depict British and American capitalism as being responsible for the disaster. The addition of an entirely fictional heroic German officer to the ship's crew was intended to demonstrate the superior bravery and selflessness of German men as compared to the British officers.
