Hard Times (novel)
''Hard Times: For These Times'' (commonly known as ''Hard Times'') is the tenth novel by Charles Dickens, first published in 1854. The book surveys English society and satirises the social and economic conditions of the era. ''Hard Times'' is unusual in several ways. It is by far the shortest of Dickens's novels, barely a quarter of the length of those written immediately before and after it. Also, unlike all but one of his other novels, ''Hard Times'' has neither a preface nor illustrations. Moreover, it is his only novel not to have scenes set in London. Instead the story is set in the fictitious Victorian industrial Coketown, a generic Northern English mill-town, in some ways similar to Manchester, though smaller. Coketown may be partially based on 19th-century Preston. One of Dickens's reasons for writing ''Hard Times'' was that sales of his weekly periodical ''Household Words'' were low, and it was hoped the novel's publication in instalments would boost circulation – ...

Sonic The Hedgehog 3
is a 1994 platform game developed and published by Sega for the Genesis. Like previous '' Sonic'' games, players traverse side-scrolling levels while collecting rings and defeating enemies. ''Sonic 3'' introduces Knuckles the Echidna, the island guardian, who lays traps for Sonic and Tails. Development began in January 1993 by Sega Technical Institute in California, shortly after the release of ''Sonic the Hedgehog 2''. It was initially developed as an isometric game similar to what would eventually become ''Sonic 3D Blast'' (1996), but became a conventional 2D platform game due to time constraints. ''Sonic 3'' was developed simultaneously with ''Sonic & Knuckles''; they were planned as a single game until time constraints and cartridge costs forced the developers to ...

The Age Of Quarrel
''The Age of Quarrel'' is the first album by the New York hardcore band Cro-Mags. It was released on then-independent Profile Records in September 1986. The video for "We Gotta Know" (directed by guitarist Parris Mayhew) received airplay on MTV at the time (during their alternative music show ''120 Minutes'' and later on ''Headbangers Ball'') and was one of the first-ever clips on MTV to feature slam dancing and crowd surfing. However, "Malfunction", "Seekers of the Truth" and "Life of My Own" are slower songs that foreshadowed the more metallic influences on their next project, the crossover thrash bracketed '' Best Wishes.''
