Future Soldier
Future Soldier was a multi-nation military project launched by the United States and its allies in the late 1990s. Superiority to enemy ground forces will be achieved by equipping the average ground-based combat soldier with an integrated set of high-technology uniforms and equipment. These will be linked to an array of real-time and archived battlefield information resources. Soldiers will require not only enhanced versions of existing equipment (assault rifle, rifle, pistol, combat knife, knife, combat helmet, helmet, body armor, armour, military uniform, clothing), but also new forms of equipment that will become possible as new types and combinations of technologies become viable for battlefield deployment. Ratnik (program)
Ratnik (russian: Ратник; Warrior) is a Russian future infantry combat system. Some components, including the communication systems and night vision technologies, have extremely limited military distribution. It is designed to improve the connectivity and combat effectiveness of combat personnel in the Russian Armed Forces. Improvements include modernised body armour, a helmet with a special eye monitor (thermal, night vision monocular, flashlight), communication systems, and special headphones. It includes 10 subsystems and 59 individual items. An improved "Sotnik" system is expected in 2025. Future Soldier 2030 Initiative was a US Army program that was launched in 2009 with the mission to research and develop future soldiers' equipments, weapons and body armors. Infantryman 2000
The Infantryman 2000 was a future soldier concept developed by Scicon Limited in 1984 intended to be used by the British Army in the year 2000. The project was cancelled before it could advance beyond prototype stages. Equipment Helmet The helmet had a tinted screen with an internal head up display, laser rangefinder and an infrared camera to give 360 degrees vision, internal speaker/radio and filtration equipment. Suit The suit had an internal heating system to regulate the body temperature. It was also thick enough to withstand toxic agents, but able to give an equal sense of touch to the soldiers own skin. The supersoldier (or super soldier) is a fictional concept soldier, often capable of operating beyond normal human limits or abilities either through genetic modification or cybernetic augmentation.
