Nicolae Frolov
Nicolae Frolov (1876–1948) was a Romanian geologist and agronomist from Bessarabia. He was noted for his work in explicating the hydrology of Bessarabia and as director of the Chișinău National Museum. Born in Corneşti, Ungheni, Bessarabia, he graduated from Chișinău Theological Seminary and then went to Estonia where in 1904 he graduated from the University of Dorpat (now Tartu). After which he taught at the universities of St, Petersburg, Kiev and Odessa Odesa (also spelled Odessa) is the third most populous city and municipality in Ukraine and a major seaport and transport hub located in the south-west of the country, on the northwestern shore of the Black Sea. Vladislav Yuryevich Frolov (russian: Владислав Юрьевич Фролов) (born 24 July 1980 in Tambov) is a Russian sprint athlete. He won the silver medal in the 400 metres at the 2006 European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg, running a personal best of 45.09 s. At the 2007 European Indoor Athletics Championships he won a silver medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay, with teammates Ivan Buzolin, Maksim Dyldin and Artem Sergeyenkov. The Russian team originally finished third, after Russia's anchor runner Sergeyenkov was pushed by Germany's Bastian Swillims when the latter advanced past Sergeyenkov on the last lap. However, the incident resulted in the disqualification of the victorious German team and the subsequent promotion of Russia to second place. Vladimir Petrovich Frolov (russian: Владимир Петрович Фролов; 1967 – 10 March 2022) was a Russian major general who died during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Biography Vladimir Frolov was born into the family of a World War II veteran. He was promoted to the rank of major general by Presidential Decree No. 595 of Vladimir Putin on 12 December 2019. The 8th Guards Combined Arms Army, whose deputy commander was Frolov, was actively engaged in the siege of Mariupol. According to Tsargrad TV, he died no earlier than 11 April 2022. His death was announced by Russian officials on 16 April 2022. The same day, his burial was held with military honours at Saint Petersburg's Serafimovskoe Cemetery after a funeral service in Novocherkassk's Ascension Cathedral. Valerian Aleksandrovich Frolov (russian: Валериан Александрович Фролов; June 7 ( O.S. May 26), 1895 – 1961) was a Soviet Colonel General (1943). Frolov participated in the First World War and the Russian Civil War. From June 1937 he was commander of the 16th Infantry Division. From October 1937 to September 1938 he participated in the Spanish Civil War. Since January 1939 he was commander of the 1st Rifle Corps of the Leningrad Military Forces. In October 1939 he became commander of the ''Murmansk Army Group'' which was transformed into the 14th Army, at the head of which he participated in the Soviet-Finnish war. Frol is a former municipality in the old Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1856 until its dissolution in 1962.
