Zlatar Lake
Zlatar Lake ( sr, / ) is an artificial lake located among the mountains of Zlatibor and Zlatar (mountain) 15 km from the town of Nova Varoš. The lake was created in the 1960s after the construction of a dam on the Uvac river, and covers an area of 7.25 square kilometers and reaches a maximum depth of 75 meters. Retrieved March 31, 2013. Zlatibor
Zlatibor ( sr-cyr, Златибoр ) is a mountainous region situated in the western part of Serbia. Among the most popular places in Serbia for tourism, Zlatibor's main attractions include health tourism, skiing, and hiking and the longest panoramic gondola lift in the world. Zlatar (mountain)
Zlatar ( sr-Cyrl, Златар, ) is a mountain range in southwestern Serbia, lying between towns of Prijepolje and Nova Varoš. Its highest peak is Velika krseva, 1,627 meters tall, peak next to Golo brdo. It belongs to Stari Vlah group of Dinaric Alps. Zlatar is bounded by rivers Uvac, Lim, Mileševka and Bistrica, and has a total of four artificial lakes – Zlatar Lake, Radoinjsko Lake, Uvac Lake and Potpeć. Nova Varoš
Nova Varoš ( sr-cyr, Нова Варош, ) is a town and municipality located in the Zlatibor District of southwestern Serbia. The municipality of Nova Varoš has a population of 16,638, while the town of Nova Varoš itself has a population of 8,795 inhabitants. History Nova Varoš was founded in the middle of the 16th century. It is associated with the name of Skender-pasha of Genoa. When Skender-pasha, traveling from Bosnia to Constantinople (1530), stopped with his entourage on the plateau below the mountain Zlatar and was delighted with the beauty of this wooded area and the intoxicating smell of pine, he ordered a town to be built there. Settlements soon sprang up on the site of today's Nova Varoš. It was called Skender-pašina palanka (''Skender-pasha's Palanka''). Uvac
The Uvac ( sr-cyrl, Увац) is an international trans-boundary river, rising under Golija mountain and Pešter plateau, then flowing through southwestern Serbia and cross into eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina where, after 115 km, it finally meets the Lim river from the right, however, before it empties into the Lim, for a 10 kilometers Uvac forms the border between two countries.
