Zlatan Stoykov
Zlatan Kirilov Stoykov ( bg, Златан Кирилов Стойков; born 17 March 1951) is a Bulgarian general and was from 1 June 2006 to 30 June 2009 the (44th) Chief of the General Staff of the Bulgarian Army. Lieutenant General Stoykov was born in Tsarvaritsa, Nevestino municipality, Kyustendil Province on 17 March 1951. He finished the Technical College of Electrical Industry in Kyustendil and graduated from the Vasil Levski Military All-Army University in Veliko Tarnovo. He has also earned degrees from the Rakovski Defence and Staff College in Sofia and the General Staff College in Moscow, Russia. Rakovski Defence And Staff College
The Georgi Rakovski Military Academy ( bg, Военна академия „Георги Стойков Раковски“), based in Sofia, is Bulgaria's oldest military institution of higher education. It is named after Bulgarian revolutionary writer Georgi Sava Rakovski. History It was officially established on 1 March 1912 with an act of the National Assembly of Bulgaria and opened on 4 January 1915, delayed due to the Balkan Wars. Since its creation, the academy has served as the main institution for the training of military commanders and personnel in Bulgaria and the primary one in the field of national security and military science, as well as NATO operational compatibility.
