Zhongzheng Lake
The Meinong Lake () is a lake and reservoir in Meinong District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. History The lake was originally named as Jhongjun Pi or Minong Lake. In 1956, the lake was renamed to Zhongzheng Lake since the visit of Chiang Kai-shek, and in August 2016, the lake was renamed to Meinong Lake. Geology Covers an area of , it is the second largest artificial lake in Kaohsiung after Chengcing Lake. It has a capacity to store water for irrigation of over of farmland. It also serves as a fishery. The lake is surrounded by mountain to the west and fields on the other three sides. The lake features trails alongside the lake for cycling or jogging. Meinong District
Meinong District (WG: Meinung, Hakka: 瀰濃 Mî-nùng, ) is a Hakka district in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Meinong is one of the four districts in Kaohsiung that is the central focus of Hakka cultural development, the others being Jiasian District, Shanlin District, and Liouguei District. In March 2012, it was named one of the "Top 10 Small Tourist Towns" by the Tourism Bureau. Name During Japanese rule, the name was changed from "Mî-nùng" (瀰濃/彌濃) to Mino . Chiang Kai-shek (31 October 1887 – 5 April 1975), also known as Chiang Chung-cheng and Jiang Jieshi, was a Chinese Nationalist politician, revolutionary, and military leader who served as the leader of the Republic of China (ROC) from 1928 to his death in 1975 – until 1949 in mainland China and from then on in Taiwan. Chengcing Lake
Chengcing Lake (), also known as the Cheng Ching Lake, Dabei Lake (大貝湖), or Toapi Lake () in Taiwanese, is an artificial lake located in Niaosong, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The lake is not far from downtown Kaohsiung and the major suburban district of Fengshan. The lake is a source of the water supply network and a tourist area of the Kaohsiung region. Park and aquarium A portion of the lake with its shore is administrated as a gated park. A chateau of Chiang Kai-shek, the former president and military leader of Taiwan, is located in the park.
